Said no to two things. Keeping control of my schedule and pushing things to later dates when they aren't urgent.

Agreed tho I’d gone back and forth on whether discussant/chair should count. Just thinking about how saturated the schedule is that there’s no breathing room for SIG/Division meetings (and other things).

We wrote this with teachers at the center — the ones navigating the flood of GenAI tools in classrooms. Whether you're curious, cautiously optimistic, or already using AI in thoughtful ways, this one's for you. Less hype, more hands-on.
Practical, research-informed, and teacher-centered.
More soon!

Thanks so much for the feedback! I definitely want to offer content that is helpful and not distracting. In my mind, if this really took off, I’d look into these details to take it to the next level. (eg in video 3, I learned to look at the camera lens and not my selfie video to make eye contact)😂

One powerful post-conference reflection came from Dr. Jeff Kim, who asked:
“What knowledge do you carry that could benefit the community?”
A question I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

I left feeling deeply moved—by the stories, yes—but also by the humility, brilliance & generosity of everyone in the room.
To be in community with so many accomplished educators building just, joyful, culturally sustaining spaces?
Powerful. Grounding. Restorative. 3/

Together, we named the weight of racial tropes—
🟡 The model minority myth
🌏 The perpetual foreigner stereotype
🕳️ The erasure of our stories & expertise.
And I asked:
"How can we shift from valuing AAPI educators for their utility, to honoring them for their humanity?" 2/

Ok, I just did the most low-hanging-fruit option. An item is an item. Today has some degree of success.
