Is the canceling of research grants really tied to AI companies not wanting competition on future discoveries?

That "weightless thin metal" that was found at Roswell? It was mylar...from a weather balloon. Before spy satellites, we'd launch mylar balloons with cameras that had special timing mechanisms to take photos over the USSR. One crashed, and Roswell was disinfo so the Soviets wouldn't figure this out

My uncle Charles was stationed at White Sands when the Roswell incident occurred. Supposedly he was part of the response team. We would always prod him when I was a kid, but he would always say he couldn't talk about it.

Libertarians were always saying "less regulation, but more private torts for externalities" is the right way for the future. Kinda hard when the expert data for private litigation doesn't exist

Many say freedom isn't free, but isn't freedom our birthright? We are born free. The problem is those who want to make us either fight for it or pay them a toll. Our heroes didn't earn our freedom, but they did defend it.

Fermilab was my backyard growing up. Used to fish and wander there a lot. Saw a few strange things there as well. By Casey's pond, someone once set up a dog's rotting skeleton in a pointing position in tall grass. Also saw a pair of badgers there around 35 years ago.

They're beautiful, but be careful bringing them indoors. The ants will come looking for them

Sorry to ruin this for you, but it's all just a long set up for a David S. Pumpkins joke at the very end of the play

What was really impressive about this video is that it was filmed in a single continuous shot.
