I actually think Eric's role is important. Not mentioning that this stupid comment from Musk comes as a result of a rant where he called an astronaut a retard is disappointing. However, clear criticism in the article, an article that will reach lots of people in the community and erode his support.

Why would he do that though when a proper method exists? I'm glad all went fine for you, but it depends on so many factors, how old is the board , state of the solder joint... I have done it also with a GBA before I got a hot air gun. I knew it was risky, wouldn't recommend it.
