I'm pretty sure the GCP is root cause of CloudFlare's outage, but I could be wrong.

Google killing Reader wasn't fair, so I don't have to be fair to them. 😂

“Literally no one else helped me. I even drafted the email myself. All the users loved it so much, they started paying us more money.”

Some VP’s performance review will be sweet though. “I single-handedly was able to get 2 billion new paying users because of Gemini in Google Workspace.”

Sundar Pichai takes the stage. Good to know he hasn't been deprecated yet.

Yahoo! is owned by private equity. If you think they're going to do anything but keep costs low and overuse AI to ship it, you'd be kidding yourself. Not that I think OpenAI or Perplexity should purchase it either, but at least they have the technical aptitude to handle software of that scale.

Call it a personal preference. I’m just someone fundamentally against using ads as the primary revenue for a business.
comment in response to post
Even if you can disable them, it shouldn’t even be part of the business model.

Professional. I just needed search. I have other tools for the stuff Assistant would do for me. This just covers the 85% of quick searches I do.
comment in response to post
I just need something to handle the 85%. I’ve got other tools now for deeper research work and code/technology.

If the NSA wants to watch me searching for Severance theories and finding years old Reddit threads on randomly triggered ADHD memories I suddenly have an urge to read again, then so be it.
