I miss news that left me yawning rather than irate. I won’t be posting much original content, others have typically said it better. I’d rather be talking about dogs, or the amazing & fun animals of the world, or music but here we are. Proud Californian.

My sincere condolences. She was a cutie. Mine passed 4 weeks ago, still tearing up but I start fostering one next week. Virtual hug.

An old man-- 40 year old man, 30 year old man, 70 year old man -- doesn't need 1 billion dollars. They could be very happy with 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 million.

Well, there was work. And dogs. And mainly work friends until I started volunteering at the zoo and joined a neighborhood group. Now, not working 💃and still have volunteering, with different organizations, & really close to adopting or fostering a dog after mine died last month.

To give you some sense of how over the top this operation was, ICE gave Fox News DRONE FOOTAGE of the operation, showing a cavalcade of armored vehicles through the streets of Pasadena to serve a search warrant on a guy whose offense was stapling fliers on power poles with information about LEOs.

I thought of you yesterday, a car passed me on the freeway and they had decorated the rear window with stars, a cactus, and the words “GaGa-Chella” 🙃

The aquarium collects eggs for visitors to hatch during public programs, and deposits the hatchlings into the ocean. Here are mine 🩵

Here’s a closer look. Females burrow into the sand, lay eggs, males surround them to fertilize. Female wiggles out of the hole (looks like a lot of work!) and everyone tries to get back to the ocean.
Eggs develop, hatch when stimulated by high tide about 10 days later, and wash out to the ocean.

In the olden times (2024 and earlier) I’d trust a US developed pharmaceutical product much more than a foreign produced one. Under current management, much less confident in the safety of anything I take, eat, drink, or use.

I often have a hard time finding people who want to or can do things I want to because of time or money or family. But a machine friend is not going to be the companion to go to a Gaga concert, whale watching, or wine tasting. “Hey, wow, wasn’t that breaching humpback amazing”

Seems parents should be playing a big role in shaping what their children love. Or is the State usurping parents rights - “Your child, my choice”?

Not excusing her but it may have been the personal touch that made it happen, the man likes to receive supplicants. I definitely would have skipped a hug. Should ask her staff.

Costco run the other day, got some staples but should get a few more. Debating whether to revisit a sourdough starter, I was a pandemic sourdough failure 😂 And may get a small freezer for the garage.

I read yesterday that she worked for years to get a fighter squadron on a MI military base snd it will be good for the local economy etc etc and T just signed on to approve, is why she was at WH and rally and presumably why a hug.

This looks like the Marine Traffic app. To help people not familiar, most of those dots are yachts, personal boats, fishing boats, whale watching boats (‘tis the season). Several are tugs. One is a Princess cruise ship. Red is oil tankers. Lime green is cargo ships. Activity is well below capacity.

Drove by 30 minutes ago. Could see one ship docked for unloading. Lots of trucks leaving with containers, probably from the ones stacked in the yards, which are still fewer in number than is normal. Few cargo ships offshore coming or going.

The guy who nearly crushed me (and worse, my dog) in AZ last year was white, presumably a native English speaker and reader, but terrible at paying attention to the road.

Very few ships in port or offshore at port of LA yesterday. I’ve never seen so few there, and most offshore seemed to be oil tankers. Seemed to be fewer containers and from fewer shipping companies stacked in the yards as well, it’s normally a cacophony of color from all the different carriers.

I was near the port of LA yesterday and I’ve never seen so few ships in port or offshore. And most of the offshore ones looked to be oil tankers, not container ships.
