I read a lot, talk a lot, and procrastinate A LOT. I am too laidback, but when poked, I will detonate. I like that my beliefs are fluid, but not my values. And, although I value my Canadian identity, I do feel a sense of responsibility to the world itself.

I suspect he only knows (or remembers) what his handlers tell him.

I'll reserve judgement, as it's sketchy at this point, but I will most definitely not forget it.

Why is it always split almost half? Is it truly an us vs them, left vs right country right now? We'll never get anything done at this rate!

Based on weight? So, Trump will be the only old, overweight and unattractive person there? They didn't think that through (as usual).

I thought that was the plan! Nationalize everything possible going forward.

Does this mean their market fish is exceptional?
Also, if pollution control is so excellent, why is the lead content in food so high?
I really am interested in knowing, because I am getting increasingly nervous about buying food from China (and Mexico) due to high lead warnings.

Investing to create positive, lasting change that increases the quality/security of life for all Canadians - who doesn't want that? But, plans for the future should never take precedence over fundamental things like access to safe drinking water or choosing safety and rights over increased profit.

I pray you do, as well.
Tennessee, huh? I was speculating awhile back if Tennessee would become the Project 2025 people's seat of government eventually. It looked for a time like an inward exodus of MAGA personalities was occurring.

I thought about this before promoting him. I decided he is an active, thoughtful and pragmatic listener - and a man of action. The big concern was his perspective: can he shift his focus from the macro to the micro, and outside of economics? He seems determined to do it all, but is this realistic?

I guess your government saw people planning to not attend your president's lavish birthday celebration.
I hope the people can resist the handful of silver offered to endorse a tyrant.
It'd be a shame for their kids and grandkids to see their faces in the crowd later on.

I want to trust - his sincerity appears legit ( mean he wrote a book on values. But the ask for such sweeping power - in light of the abuses of other rich, white male leaders, who we know now bald-faced lied - is too much. At the very least, there must be a time limit with reassessment check points.

My mother's people came to Canada from Cornwall England to mine in NS.
So many died, particularly Thomas Jennings, crushed by falling stone, and a year later his son, Stanley Jennings, died of shock due to wounds.
Now Houston wants to mine uranium regardless of all the miners descendants saying no.

If it's happening on that large of a scale, I wonder if it's a landscaping company trying to keep costs down and profits up.

Dr. Phil's media team entered Canada to try to influence our election, as well.
It's a bit pathetic when old men has-beens try to remain relevant, isn't it?

I think it is important that more sworn protectors show the people that they are NOT mindless, soulless point-and-shoot wind-up toys for a government to play with.
Bravery is found in defending values, as well as putting yourself in the line of fire.
I hope her peers don't leave her hanging.

I wonder if Carney is treading water publically until after the G7 (until after he can confer with other world leaders).

These journalists should ask him to say one good thing about his Prime Minister (because Carney IS his PM, whether he likes it or not) and some of the PM's cabinet members.
We can pretty much guarantee his response will be backhanded, but it would be entertaining to see him break out in a sweat.

"This We'll Defend" motto in the background pisses me off.
It is a rip off of the MacFarlane (my maternal ancestors) chief of clan's motto, "This I'll Defend".
The motto and crest are iconic symbols of the clan's identity and their commitment to Scotland.

Too me, she is a very young person trying to do what she thinks is right. I mean, how many people think, "Thatβs wrong!", stock a boat and take off - yes, toward danger. Mistake or daring or stupidity or a sense of invincibility aside, I am impressed that she cares - and that she takes action.

I didn't respond to her and her mission. I responded only to your comment that you hoped she would be imprisoned (implied) by a government who (it has been made obvious) has no problem with ending the lives of civilians, including children.
Your latest comment was appropriate - a discussion starter.

Frank, the issue was thinking that it is okay to kidnap and imprison a woman (and her crew) for the crime of trying to provide aid to starving, suffering people - not that you didn't support her.
There's a difference between not supporting someone and condemning someone unjustly.

So many examples! A policeman turning and breaking from his formation just so he could shoot a female journalist who had her back turned to him.
How are these men any different from Trump's reserves still sitting in prison just waiting to serve him after being pardoned?

I actually felt nauseated. Not just because I saw the beating her body took, but because I saw the true nature of the men who are trusted to protect. They trampled and bludgeoned someone's unarmed daughter.

I was going post something like that too.
That the meme could have shown photos of most of the immediate Trump administration, all with criminal charges/allegations, with pardons/forgiven or even appreciated stamped all over them.

Don't do that - don't villianize her. She is a Canadian. We might not like her intense loyalty or knee-jerk reaction, but doing the same in the opposite direction is not helpful.

Also, placing marbles on the path as a deterrent does not mean horses will go down, unless the rider decides to continue on - not many would do that.
comment in response to

I hated suggesting such a thing, but after seeing the horses deliberately trample on the bodies of humans, I can't think of another way for protesters to defend themselves.
I remember training horses for trail - we did everything: rattling cans, horns, whistles, etc. to condition them from startles.

Fill the sky with kites during protests?
Marbles for horses?
Any other non-weapon tactical gear protesters can "arm" themselves with?

The US sent 125 firefighters last week, and more are supposedly coming.
But, you're right (for many reasons), we are not the same - at least, most of us arenβt.

So, if 5 or 6 ICE can walk into a Home Depot and grab 10 or 20 people all at once, that's a pretty tidy haul.
The lazy ones go to immigration court proceedings.
