I'm starting to wonder if Saltwater just needs to be shelved. Might have to switch focus to There's A Water God In My Basement and see if it polishes up better.

The "sex makes us human" bit is so stupid, Like, most animals fuck. You know what other animals don't do? Make horror movies 💙✨

Look how much he's grown! Disco ball for size reference, lol #caturday 💙✨

Fighting the urge to tear a picture from one of my vintage books to frame, but that's monstrous! But it'd look so nice! But it'd make me a monster! 😂

The goal is to have my room completed draped in fairy lights. Having a metric fuck-ton of fairy lights would fix me, I think! ✨

I think I might just be done with short stories altogether. I've submitted roughly 17,429 of them with no luck at all. Might be best to just focus on novels!

Well, to no one's surprise, the response for that anthology was a rejection. What's worse, it came with the generic "this doesn't mean your writing is bad" message, and like, if it wasn't, this would be an acceptance. Note: This is a vent, I know that's not necessarily true.

OOMFS DO THIS name: king height: 5'3" star sign: capricorn nickname: king is a nickname, lol age: 35 relationship status: taken by dollbaby and babyboy fav season: winter pets: two cats fav color: dark blue

Babyboy is younger than Dollbaby and I by a fair bit, and the biggest difference is really just the way he texts. Dollbaby and I are millennials who use emojis, but Babyboy, being gen z, tends to use tone indicators instead. It's really interesting!

This one anthology I submitted to is sending out responses on Friday, and I AM ANXIOUS 😅💙✨

I feel like the summary of a book should be presented in the POV the story is written in. It feels weirdly deceitful to make a reader think they're getting a third-person story only to get slapped in the face with first-person instead 😬

If you've ever used ChatGPT, we can't be friends ✨

It's National Hug Your Cat Day! Who wants to give hugs to Napkins and Duff? 💙✨

My library dropping out of the Hoopla program has completely ruined my reading. Without a due date on my audiobooks, I have no drive to read them because they'll just always be there. It's very frustrating!

I would give literally anything to be one of those people who cleans when they're upset. That's gotta be so incredibly helpful.

So wait, hold on, lemme get this straight. The world is on fire. There's a monster in the White House. There is a literal genocide going on. And yet your biggest concern is who someone you don't even know is fucking? Do you realize how incredibly stupid that sounds?

Sliced my thumb open looking for a fork. It's not bad, but I learned something about myself: Apparently blood makes me queasy now?? Like, I can handle cat scratches and I regularly prick myself for blood sugar tests, why did this little cut make me sick to my stomach? Weird!

Today is Duff's gotcha day! His mama was a semi-feral workshop cat, so we don't know his exact birthday, but he's been with us for a whole year, and it's been such a joy to have his goofy little self around! 💙✨

Dollbaby has an appointment tomorrow, but it's looking like, come Tuesday, I'm gonna start a new draft of Saltwater. I am immensely frustrated, but I truly think it's for the best.

Pride reminder: Asexuals and aromantics are valid and part of the queer community 💙✨

Happy Pride, my loves 💙✨

"Is it okay for writers to use an AI to help brainstorm?" What kind of question is that? Do you not see the word "brain" right there? You can't brainstorm without using your brain. Letting AI do it for you is incredibly lazy.

i just saw this on twitter, so let's make it a thing here, too! me & my on repeat

After I figure out what I'm doing with Saltwater and also get this anthology-bound short story done, my next project will be going back to There's A Water God In My Basement, I think. It's been a while, but that story was really fun!

Sex is cool, but have you ever walked into the ocean, never to be seen again? 💙✨

Not at all writing-related, but I just saw the opening for the King of the Hill revival and I AM SO GOTDANG EXCITED

It's not problematic if she's 35 and he's 22 if she first met him when he was 21, right? They're both adults.
