Power on our street went on-and-off briefly last night, and then again this afternoon.

We used block groups. These are the ones we identified as being within a half-mile radius of the tornado's path, and being in north St. Louis (roughly east of Skinker and north of Delmar):

One lake sturgeon caught and tagged near Hannibal, Mo., has gone on an astounding odyssey over recent years — voyaging down the Mississippi River and wrapping into the Ohio, and repeatedly swimming the Missouri between St. Louis and South Dakota.

My wife asked me if Katsulas was on the St. Louis Walk of Fame. I checked — no he's not. :(

I don't commute a lot (yet), but hope to do so several times a week going forward.
If the Maline Greenway existed, it'd be a no-brainer to just bike ... I'd ride it out to the Mississippi Greenway. But AFAIK only one portion of Maline has been built so far. I think the rest is still years away.

One thing I'm going to try to figure out, maybe this weekend -- would it be feasible to ride all the way downtown, and skip Metrolink? The train costs $5 per day, and can be a hassle. But going from Ferguson to downtown is a long ride, and much of the way may not be bike-friendly.

Maneuvering onto and off the Metrolink trains was harder than with my old normal bike -- this e-bike is bigger and very rear-heavy. If the train starts moving before the e-bike is put in the little nook ...
Also, I hadn't anticipated that getting out of the 8th & Pine elevator would be so tricky.

I'm still not crazy about the cruiser-style handlebars on the Pedego Interceptor, but an adjustment has made the more comfortable than before. I may swap them out at some point. Also still getting the hang of the cadence pedal assist, which isn't as natural as torque assist I tried on another bike.

Historic map: St. Louis city and county have been struck by many tornadoes over the years. My own home in Ferguson was badly damaged by winds during the Good Friday tornado in 2011, which passed by a few blocks to the north.

"We live ... in a country where ... books are being banned, history is being rewritten, and critical thinking is discouraged. So to that I say, 'Let us be educated. Let us be curious. Let us ask hard questions.' ... Because knowledge is power, and we refuse to be powerless."
