Yeah, my immune system is actually turbo charged šŸ˜†

I have an autoimmune disease, so no. Although, what’s funny is my immune statement is too boosted, and that’s the problem!

I was just thinking about this today! I’m really good at macro things: the conceit, the overall plot, the character arcs. But I still struggle with anything micro because it uses the more mathy part of my brain.

These are the things that make me think we’re in a simulation, and it’s collapsing.

Yes, and it hasn’t even been six months yet. We have over three years left of this shit. ā˜¹ļø

And a pile of used pull tabs, just to show people how much you’ve won.

She must make a passive aggressive comment about how long people stay at her booth or it’s not authentic! Bonus points for repressing her emotions to make others happy!

As a person with an autoimmune disease, I completely agree. I was most afraid of him, and I still am. He had the ability and drive to kill people.

The Changeling by Joy Williams. I realized that because she is so cool, confident, and collected as a writer, she can do whatever she wants, and it absolutely lands. It’s not just about skill or knowledge of craft or practice. It’s about taking command of your writing.

I constantly have to tell myself this. There are times when I whip out a chapter and execute it almost flawlessly in a day, and then there are times where I write a paragraph that I end up deleting, and it takes me an hour or two. And Mondays are definitely the hardest to get into.

She’s absolutely magnetic. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Such a strong performance.

Completely agree. My best writing came after I had gone to therapy, when I was able to reflect on my trauma from a stable, healthy place. For me, I can’t write or create art when I’m stuck in anxiety or depression.

One thing I’ve realized about Catholics and Catholicism, though, is that there’s a lot of diversity in thought, practice, and belief, regardless of the Vatican. Although there are many trad caths, there also a bunch of liberation theology Catholics who are all about Catholic Social Teachings.

My daughter was like this until she went to kindergarten and completely stopped napping. Now she goes to sleep quickly around 8:30-9:00 with no help.

the thing about the tates and trump and musk is that what they offer is the illusion of control and dominance and mastery. in truth, they are absolute slaves to their passions and their worst instincts, and they have paid for it in that they are literal degenerates

I really resent how Jews in the diaspora are treated like second-tier Jews. Our perspective in the diaspora is just as valid as any Jew’s, as is our contribution to Judaism, Jewish culture, and the Jewish experience.

In my experience, classes only provide a very basic overview, and the only way you can learn is to do it over and over. Even if I’m inconsistent with Shabbat, I stumble over the blessings, which I know! And I still forget the v’ahavta after the first line.

I always thought I was the only one who didn’t know what to do, and then one day, I looked around and realized we were all looking at each other, wondering what to do. That’s a sign of true community.

My daughter took my son’s new toy NASCAR car he got from my in-laws and drew hearts on all the windows and wrote her name on the hood, and then she said it’s hers now. And, like, no, but also … I think she definitely improved it.
