My D. menziesii and D. oreganum were challenging — the few germinants in nursery beds put up only a single leaf for at least the 1st yr and were easily lost. They spend a lot of time building underground stores, so now would treat them as a fussy geophyte, holding in Anderson deeps for several yrs.
