#Kentucky with its first #whoopingcough #deaths since 2018 “Two Kentucky infants have died of pertussis — commonly known as whooping cough — within the past six months” “neither the mothers nor the babies had received the recommended #vaccinations” www.courier-journal.com/story/life/w...

I'm imagining ICE doing to NYC what it's doing to LA — and the people of NYC responding the way people are in LA — and it all happening under Mayor Cuomo. He'll side with ICE, DHS and, of course, the NYPD. This man, who hates the city and doesn't live here, can not become mayor. Don't rank him.

Gov. Gavin Newsom said on social media that California National Guard was being taken over by the federal government “not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle.”

The people at @msnbc.com helped me make this video

“Salivating, calling for the murder of protesters”. That’s what MAGHATS on Fox News comments are doing. The sickness in these people will consume this country and everyone in it

The deployment of federalized National Guard troops to California, without consent from local or state officials, is deeply troubling. These are tactics seen in authoritarian regimes, not in America. We want to be clear, the military should not be used to police civilians.

This is a pretext for suspending habeas corpus, which this Congress will bend over to let him do even if he doesn't try do it it unilaterally first. Very dark days ahead for the republic.

kind of just endlessly sad and grieving that there are so few voices in the public sphere making the basic principled argument that immigration is an affirmative good in every way and the best way for this country to serve humanity is to welcome people who want or need to leave their homes

Your safety is the top priority. Peaceful protesters have already been harmed for doing nothing. The story they’re selling isn’t legit. Please film everything, document everything.

Undocumented immigrants pay almost $100 billion in taxes each year. The top 1% evade $163 billion in taxes each year. Stop pretending that immigrants are the ones taking advantage of taxpayers.

Have national Dems, who claim to want to "win back" the working class, said anything yet about ICE injuring and arresting the head of the SEIU of California? truthout.org/articles/ice...

Tanks being moved into DC. National guard being mobilized in LA. Paramilitary thugs being unleashed across America. It's summer in America in fascism is in full bloom.

I'll keep posting this....

With the $45 million being spent on the president's parade here’s what that money could do for veterans instead: House 3k veterans for an entire year in transitional housing Provide full PTSD treatment for 3.75k veterans for a year Deliver job training to 9k veterans through 12-week programs

Better safe than sorry… 🚨Heavy ICE Presence Expected in Los Angeles on Sunday. A bilingual warning is being shared with the community — including areas to avoid. Stay alert. Protect each other. Know your rights.

Welcome to America, where protesting illegal kidnappings without due process is an insurrection, but attacking the nation’s Capitol is not.

Right now, Muslims in Gaza are supposed to be celebrating Eid al-Adha. Instead of feasting, they are starving. Instead of gathering with their loved ones, they are burying their children. Netanyahu and the IDF can end this misery ANY time by agreeing to a ceasefire and allowing aid into Gaza.

And there you have it. ICE didn't target migrant workers in Kristi Noem's farms or Sarah Huckabee Sanders' meatpacking plants because they wanted to create a riot in LA as a pretext to declaring martial law. They don't care about undocumented migrants, they only care about controlling US citizens.

The military isn’t being employed to carry out an immigration policy. The immigration policy, and especially the way the administration is choosing to carry it out, is an excuse to call out the military.

If you are National Guard or Active Duty military and you are being ordered to violate the constitutional rights of US citizens then this is the number to the GI Rights Hotline. There is support. You don’t have to go through with it. 877-447-4487

ICE is a much greater threat to this country than illegal immigrants. The current administration ia by far the greatest threat this country faces. The problem is not st our borders. It is in the White House.

The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.

Earlier today ICE agents hit someone with a car and tear gassed a neighborhood, sparking several fires and disrupting businesses. Immigrants, by contrast, did not.

There is no bigger story right now than the White House asserting that California residents are in a state "of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States."

1/ If accurate, this is almost certainly a conflict with the Posse Comitatus Act, which prohibits the use of the military for domestic law enforcement, including the National Guard if they are federalized.

This isn’t even remotely legal what he is doing.

I don't care if these monstrous ICE raids are a "federal operation". This is authoritarian violence, plain and simple. Just because Stephen Miller has kidnapping quotas for brown people he doesn't want to see on the street doesn't mean we have to think it's okay.

They should also be required to publish the final bill for 30 days before they can vote on it. Everyone should have time to read it.

In just 130 days, Elon... -Secured even more contracts -Derailed at least 40 fed investigations of his corporations -Gutted agencies that regulate his business -Installed loyalists throughout the government Elon has fallen out with Trump, but he got exactly what he wanted.

not enough said about how, by turning the national government against states on the basis of ordinary political disagreement, trump is undermining the idea that the union is worthwhile. www.cnn.com/2025/06/06/p...

A billionaire who profits off the presidency is feuding with another billionaire who bought access to the government to line his own pockets. Neither should have ever been able to amass so much power. What we're witnessing is a failed experiment in billionaire governance.

I just can’t imagine having enough money to end world hunger and then not ending world hunger. 🤨

Your window on to the strange and disturbing world of the GOP: 76% view Musk favourably 80% view Vance favourably 87% view Trump favourably It’s not the people at the top, it’s the entire party.

VARNEY: 8,000 manufacturing jobs were lost in May. That's not what you wanted to see. CHAVEZ-DeREMER: Well, we're certainly holding steady. VARNEY: But how could we're losing those jobs? CHAVEZ-DeREMER: Well, we're certainly holding steady.

Worth noting: ICE is conducting these prominent mass detention operations in urban settings in states like California and Illinois and apparently leaving the low-hanging fruit of major agricultural centers in places like Texas and South Dakota (home of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem) largely untouched.

The appointment of Thomas Fugate, a 22-year-old with no national security expertise, to oversee the Department of Homeland Security's Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3) is deeply concerning. Text SIGN PRKKXJ to 50409 or go to: resist.bot/petitions/PR... @resist.bot #resist

Today everything comes under the laws of competition and the survival of the fittest, where the POWERFUL feed upon the POWERLESS. As a consequence, masses of people find themselves excluded and marginalized: without work, without possibilities, without any means of escape. — Pope Francis of Rome

Kristi Noem less than a month ago: "There is no scenario where Abrego Garcia will be in the United States again." (No matter what happens, bringing him back to the US is a climbdown for the administration)

By the way a military parade when we’re not celebrating a war victory is something a dude who never served would do.

The Big Fucked Up Bill, is NOT a spending bill. It’s a government restructuring bill, that consolidates power in the executive, defunds critical services to the point of absurdity, removes the power of our courts to enforce the law and dramatically curtails voting rights. It’s Project 2025

Chief of Nashville, criminal division resigns over decision to charge Abrego Garcia. That’s a big story and the details will likely be very damning for the administration.

Law Professor @rgoodlaw.bsky.social catches DOJ in a contradiction in the Abrego Garcia case. A major one.

In an act of integrity and resistance, a supervisor in the Nashville federal prosecutor’s office resigned over how the Abrego Garcia case was being handled. The charges are bogus, pure political theater meant to justify a wrongful abduction.

Wellman: When I served in Iraq.. I heard about how Saddam Hussein divided them. Different sects fought each other. But you know -- Saddam and his family sat laughing at all of them. They divided them against each other and kept their power for 35 years. Does this sound familiar to anybody?

Wow. What a sign that criminal case against Abrego Garcia may be politically cooked up. "Schrader’s resignation was prompted by concerns that the case was being pursued for political reasons" Schrader spent 15 years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Nashville and was chief of the criminal division

This conversation is definitely worth the watch.
