My drawing room needs an old-fashioned drafting table for my compass and straight-edge stuff. And the bookshelf needs books, and other treasures. A clock on the wall would be nice, as well as a place for some sheet music, etc. All in due time. #C++ #Euclid #OpenGL #AI

Fingers crossed mainstream media reports on this.

Compass and straight edge, anyone? Working on a framework for doing ALL 465 proofs out of Euclid with pure code, while avoiding using trig or conditional logic. Just added hexagon and decagon. I still want to do a proof-generating AI that is transformer-based, all in due time. #C++ #AI #Euclid

There are several ways to draw the points of a decagon starting with a pentagon. We could compute the angle bisectors or else reflect the points about any axis of asymmetry. Doing it without conditional logic or trig calls is even more interesting. #C++ #AI #3D #Eucliid

Writing a game-engine or CAD tools can be a worthwhile adventure. Ever tried to draw a pentagon without using trig functions? Everything can be done as if with a compass and straightedge. This works since the cosine of 36 degrees = (1+sqrt(5)/4. Other polygons to follow: 10, 12, 60. #C++ #AI #3D

Since Deep-Seek is a "Mixture of Experts" based AI, why not just build from scratch, with "experts" about "braids", "solving mazes", or even the chat-bot Elliza? First, we add parallelism to Eliza, while adding functions like "bind_keysets", etc., then neuronal integration ... #C++, #AI, #braids

I saw an article on Hackaday about how someone wrote a genetic algorithm for the Atari 800XL that uses a neural network to approximate a mathematical function. Thus, I am adapting it to C++, so it can evolve multiple models concurrently. The results look quite promising! #c++ #ai #neural #braids

Been doing more coding with my braid drawing code, while thinking about how to integrate Deep Seek or another AI into the application, so as to create a hair expert; or a braids expert. So why not ask Deep Seek about what it thinks of my code so far? At least it is polite. #hair #braids #AI #C++

The good news is that I am still so totally happy with my "Teapot in the Garden" hair rendering routines at this point, that I don't feel so bad about how crappy my braiding code is, at least for now, but it is coming along nicely. Not quite ready for TensorFlow but working on it. #braids #AI

So, finally here is a screenshot of the preliminary vector model that will be used to help implement the control functions needed for accurate rendering of twisted or braided hair. This will also be used with the shader that I wrote last year for kinky and curly hair. #C++ #AI #braids #hair

I know that I need to get back to my previous work on Digital DNA and the whole theory of braiding. Stay Tuned. Of course, I have been letting myself get distracted by the Deep Seek meme - yet somehow, I have a feeling that this is all going to come together somehow. #C++ #braids #AI #rails #hair

There are two wolves inside of you. If the first acquires lock A and the second acquires lock B, and then the first attempts to acquire lock B while the first attempts to acquire lock A, they will deadlock. Teach your wolves concurrency.

I converted the Python files for Deep Seek to C++ and got "convert.cpp" to compile in VS 2022, by using a dummy implementation of a "torch.h" header file to fill in some prototypes, for now! Not linking yet, but it sure would be nice to be able to build custom AI models from scratch! #deepseek #AI

Doing stuff with Deep Seek, like converting some of the Python source to C++ by hand, and also trying a third-party Phyton to C++ conversion tool, just to see if it actually works. Maybe I can drop a Deep Seek engine into my Rubidium framework? This could take awhile... #deepseek #ai #ai #ruby

In other news: I started a new project on Hackaday - entitled "Deep Sneak: for lack of a better name", where I am looking into the prospects of running the Deep Seek algorithm on a Windows PC, or perhaps a Raspberry Pi, or maybe even a Pi cluster. Just to see what it can do. #AI #C++ #deepseek

Although my B.S. is in Engineering Physics, I also have a certification in Construction and Architecture Technology from another college. So, why not write a game engine from scratch, with an environment, not based on some meta-space but on actual objects, or models thereof? #C++ #openGL #AI

Hey @pimoroni.com, any chance you could make a card like this (maybe with thru hole headers) for the Presto for people like me who don't need a microsd card but could use the 6 pins as an expansion header? I have a project for a customer that the presto would be perfect for but it needs 3-4 gpios!

This is the only way to enjoy real oranges, whether for juice or otherwise. I don’t understand how anyone tolerates simulated food.

Polymorphism in C++ can be used in various ways, as when a base class contains a collection of objects, while also describing the relations among them. Thus, a derived class might provide more information about "structure" and "behavior". Of course, we also want reflection ... #dna #braids #c++

Turning audio into sheet music can be quite a bit of fun, with or without the help of AI. Yet there is also the pleasure of training an LLM on Yang-Mills theory (among other things) and then trying to get it interested in sex, or at least achieving the million-dollar payday. #ai #physics #midi

Got an invite to attend an online "virtual job fair/interview" hosted by Hacker X, but was told that I have to pay $52.75 to attend - what? A JOB INTERVIEW? I don't think so. Did not receive a "promo code", nor was I offered a "free option". #fraud #ai #c++ #scam #ruby #rails #fullstack #devops

Magnitude 5.8 Earthquake, Yerington, Nevada. Just a few minutes ago. #earthquake

How many people know about this one: What if the National Weather Service really did make a secret deal with insurance companies to NOT tell North Carolina, among others, about the actual risk for a 500-year meteorological event? #helene #weather #insurance #genocide #biden

I was going to say something about the food on Amtrak the other day but was having trouble uploading in real time. Then I realized that there is more to the rails meme than Ruby On Rails. OK, back to coding then. #rails

In 1999 (or whenever), I worked out the mass needed to build a 100-light-year "bridge" spanning at least some part of the galaxy, or a network of tunnels perhaps, while also taking into account the momentum transfer, etc. ... by hollowing out the earth? Could it ever work? #ruby #rails #FTL #scifi

Sometimes life happens, and maybe mother-nature at her finest decides to toss a curve ball, just to show how harsh things can be. That doesn't mean that one's life as a whole should seem such a complete shambles, especially when the "pain" merely tears one's soul. Ah, the possibilities! #ai #cad

While studying architecture technology, whenever that was (besides my BS in Engineering Physics) ... I had to actually "build" a model of a house, and thus cut every piece of wood to precise measurements, etc. Now as for building a robot that can explore mazes, the saga continues ... #robotics #ai

Time to say something else about “Total Kitchen Information System”, whether you think that you need one or not. Why settle for phone camera QR codes when you could be scanning in style? Oh, how I love the redness of the red.

Headed back home on Amtrak, and getting ready to pay the insane prices in the dining car. But it is so much fun! Same menu as usual, however. No turkey. No cran … but hey at least they serve beer.

Found some information on Wikipedia regarding braiding machines. It seems so natural to do by hand. yet it takes a bit of effort to think about how actually works, from a more rigorous perspective, i.e., mathematically that is, and for coding purposes. Similar to DNA ... but different. #braids

A simple plot made with the original gear code, that I based "digital DNA" on ... which is how I figured out the geometry and shading for hair, etc. Naturally, we will need to revisit the whole theory of locks, and braids, whether by hand; or else as if done by some theoretical "maypole weaver".

I don't know if there is a SHRDLU meme on BlueSky yet. Maybe I will have to start one. In the meantime, I modified the code for creating walls, to also make the bookshelf, which I am starting to fill up with things. Maybe "banned books" will be next, or some kind of autonomous AI? #shrdlu #c++

Early test of the hair drawing code, for kinky, twisted, and/or curly hair, etc. ... rendered without lighting, shading, or textures. The fact that naturally twisted hair typically has an elliptic cross-section, means there are additional layers to be added to this onion, naturally. #braids #hair

I find it curious that my "Total Kitchen Information System" got more "Likes" than anything ... three. What if we populate a virtual bookcase with "banned books"? Does BlueSky need its own "meta-verse", and just how would that work? Turtle-Graphics, maybe? A plug-in perhaps? WebGL? HTML5? #c++
