Go on TV. Call a press conference. Use much, much stronger language. Drop the gloves. Confront Trump. Demand of him, on live TV, an answer to what you just wrote: "...there is currently no unmet need." There is no legit reason to federalize the California National guard. Get in his face!

LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment’s notice. We are in close coordination with the city and county, and there is currently no unmet need.
The Guard has been admirably serving LA throughout recovery.
This is the wrong mission and will erode public trust.

New — Marcelo Gomes da Silva has finally been released from ICE detention where the 18-year-old was held in deplorable conditions. He helped translate paperwork for other detainees that said they were getting deported. Unimaginable.
