@kodi I'm told I'll seem more like a real person if I put something here And that will make it less likely that I'll get blocked But then I think about how strong the desire not to be perceived is And I wonder why I'd want to avoid being blocked

He can rent out a Showbiz Pizza if he needs to feel special on his birthday.

It's especially weird because, like, it's a parade for a person's birthday. And that person is alive. I can't think of a living person that I'd want to attend a birthday parade for. And knowing that they asked for the parade... I'd disown my own parents if they invited me to their birthday parade.

You got the most gentle and helpful reply possible, and this is how you responded. I'd be interested to know how you think the person you're responding to could have communicated the same thing without, in your opinion, being a dick about it.

Every year I was in high school, we missed exactly one day of school because a squirrel fried itself in the exact same place and the whole campus lost power.

Yeah, things absolutely went to crap after the bankruptcy. Food got worse, then the prices went up and the portions went down, so it stopped even being a good deal for bad food.

God Bueno is SO bad now. I don't know why they just hauled off and ruined everything. Every once in a while I forget and go there and it's still just so bad.

I lived in NJ for three years and losing access to Braum's was one of the hardest things about it. And then I moved back to north Texas and now I miss the ziti pizza. Just can't win.

"It's like Kendrick Lamar and Drake but with two Drakes" is my favorite summary so far.

Yeah, around 9 or so, my parents only really knew where I was if I'd asked them to drive me there. I did let them know what my plan was before I took the bus cross-town to see a movie premiere at age 11, though.

I really miss the idea that political contributions could be regulated in some fashion.

Oh, here I thought he "departed" but I guess if he "literally left" that's totally different.

Yeah, I second that on The Pout Pout Fish. The rhythm of the words is so great, and... then maybe you get to have a conversation about how no it's not OK to be the Pout Pout Fish at daycare.

Sheep in a Jeep - Nancy Shaw / Margot Apple Hug - Jez Alborough Dog in Charge - K.L. Going / Dan Santat (this one might be targeted a little older but the illustrations are great, the dog and the cats are so cute)

jfc We should ALL be net negatives on society. Society should be providing to every single one of us more than we put in. If we can use economies of scale to make the rich get rich, why can't we have economies of scale for the poor and disadvantaged, too?

Yeah, just for season 17, and then back to John Leeson. They mentioned that he had laryngitis at the beginning of the season, and then he didn't speak until The Creature from the Pit, with the other voice actor. Just one more thing to make season 17 seem a little bit more weird.
comment in response to post
Yeah, City of Death is really fun! and I noticed that his performance had changed, but everybody was so outrageous it just kind of fit in... and then The Creature from the Pit starts, and he's still got it dialed up to 11, and K9's voice is all weird, and yeah, it was definitely time.

I drive by a different Lois Lane every day! It's fun because it's a little residential street that spans several developments, and it's the only one that goes straight through all the major cross streets, so you get to see it even if you're not driving into the residential area.

For anyone who didn't know, the artist of the Biting Pear of Salamanca is Ursula Vernon, aka T. Kingfisher.

My house hides a lot of sins of previous owners, but the fact that they had the sense to fill in the sunken living room makes up for a lot of it.

The closest one to my house - which is weirdly not busy - has only ever had the self checkout open. Sometimes there are two employees chatting at the self checkout, so probably one of them technically has a register open? But I only ever see people use self checkout.

Well, I for one choose to interpret his ambiguous fate as "killed by a monkey with a gun." I rewatched the ending really quick to see where the monkey was hiding and I have a few ideas. Also SOMEONE in the house is now singing "Don't Stop Believing."

Now that I have kids, it's totally incomprehensible to me that "a parent suddenly withdraws all financial support from their child who relied on that support" is something that happens so often we have a widely understood term for it. It's so hard to imagine why I would even consider doing that.

Growing up, I knew two kids who died. Both of them were hit by cars.

It's funny because without really meaning to, I've seen every single movie he starred in UP TO JUNIOR, and for Junior and beyond I think I've seen two, neither of which is Junior. Just totally lost interest in his whole thing at that point.

My gut feeling is that Calvin and Hobbes would make the cut, but now I feel like I need to read the whole thing to be sure.

I don't have a good "leaving the house" tote, but for walking around the house, I love this sling: www.alfiepet.com/products/ac-... My little dude has fallen asleep in it. He gets super excited when he sees me pick it up.

I could not have remembered the name of a single character in Thirtysomething but seeing "elliot" so close to the word Thirtysomething made my shoulders tense up. I don't even remember what he did, but wow do I dislike him.

Once you realize how much better the world is when _even the people you dislike_ have their needs met, it becomes really hard to see why the "people I don't like should suffer" mentality is so popular.

I've watched the movie like five times and I'm pretty sure there are still some lines that I've never heard because I'm laughing so hard.

Yeah, in the past the pact that I have actual solar panels currently ON MY ROOF was enough to at least make it quick but now they won't even let me go for that. I literally busted out "I'm tired of this conversation" on one of them and just closed the door. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xncz...

...now I'm trying to figure out a good set of 5 shows that end in numbers. Babylon 5 Blake's 7 Sense8 The 4400 Cleopatra 2525 I'm pretty sure I could do better if I weren't just going off the top of my head, no disrespect to Gina Torres.

* - I'm really torn between this and Blake's 7, but in the end I feel more comfortable betting on J. Michael Straczynski than Terry Nation, especially since I've already got more Terry Nation than I can handle with Doctor Who.

It's amazing to me that my candidates for favorite come from five different decades. I probably land on Changes, but it's just so hard to choose.
