Isn't the thing that will rebuild the bridges he's burned, or chase away his self-loathing. He has to do that, but that's the hard part. He still has a way to go. And people going "Hangman did nothing wrong" unironically won't change that, because it's not true. He knows it, too.

Of those terrible things he's done will have a purpose. Right? No, of course not. And that's been the crux of the last two promos: Hanger is running away from the actual problem, because once again, he's unwilling to face his demons. He needs to conquer them before he can win the title. The title

Because he's convinced himself that he has to, because it'll *fix* him. His downturn started when he lost the title (the crux of the original Swerve promo was this, too), and yeah he's done some bad stuff since then, but if he wins the title then things will get better. Right? If he wins, then all

Him to win the title. Ospreay wants to win the title because he's assured of who he is: he's the best in the world, and he loves AEW. He loves wrestling, and he wants to be the one to lead this company back from the dark place Mox has taken it to. Hanger, on the other hand, wants to win the title

You can't just skip to the end though, the title won't actually fix him. It's the entire point of the past two promo segments.

It is interesting how one of the things that made Hanger so popular was that the Kenny/Hanger story was so nuanced and heartfelt, and now people just want all of the story and character stuff he does to be pushed aside so he can win a title. I love him too, but c'mon.

In kayfabe that does nothing, though. The entire point is that the title will fix nothing about Hangman or what he's done. Much in the same vein as the Kenny feud, he needs to fix himself and own up to it *before* he can be able to win the title.

AEW fans will literally threaten to stop watching because a wrestler does something that goes against their personal headcanon, when it's not even something AEW ever intended or booked. AEW fans love to complain. Lol

At least with Japan I think it won't last very long if they try it. WWE is so removed from what Japanese fans are used to, and even if there's some who would like it, DDT already exists and is way better.

It's a whole lot of people who *don't* want him as champ who are for some reason fantasy booking ways for him to be chanp

He should actually beat Toni at All In

WWE feels it needs to tell you, usually by spoon-feeding and pretty packaging, why you should care. AEW just lets them go out there and show you why you should care.

I feel like I missed something important, but not altogether unsurprising

Haven't seen any of it, but from what I understand, whole lot of non-wrestling accounts saw the gif of Fletcher riding Hangman, assumed all wrestling was homophobic, and tried to bully AEW fans. They failed, but.

Funny how so many outlets/podcasts/channels suddenly got interested in covering TNA because of that. Almost like they're all "WWE and AEW" outlets instead of "Wrestling" outlets

Seen people do an even more deranged "one of the three (Mercedes,Toni, Athena) should win all the belts," apparently not realizing that said belt collector would have to be factored into the booking of four different companies across three continents

- Cena and Rock not being there for weeks after the turn (and Rock not at all) - Nonsense "you people" promo - Crowd being way more into the heel than Babyface - Slow, plodding match - Celebrity guest taking a major role - Idiotic Babyface The more things change, the more they stay the same

Sing (To Noise Making), De Selby pt.2, Would That I, but he's got a catalog that rarely ever misses.

If Roman used his real name, he'd have ICE called on him

Unfortunately it's expected considering who he's clearly inspired by.

It honestly almost feels like Max (the wrestler) has to be dragged into doing anything with his character beyond his normal shtick. Even if it does still keep any sort of development on the burner, seems like this sort of stuff is just what he'd rather be doing. Makes sense considering his faves.

Idk man, getting into the same doomer mindset about vague wrestling news (during mania week) after talking about how people shouldn't do that all day is just funny to me. But yeah, we'll see what happens.

Pretty sure Naito and Cobb were both known to be working without contracts for a while. Everything you said about the Mariah stuff applies even more here, no reason to jump to conclusions.

Hamburger, Hot Dog, or Shield?

Mox has been wrestling a slower style for that exact reason and the same people just call it bad and boring. No winning either way lol

The way it was shot at least, he was right there and definitely would've done damage, but the point stands that it's an insane thing to say in that context

The best part is after when they kiss and, while the triumphant music is playing, the bunker all their friends are in gets blown open by the weapon she stopped him from destroying, thereby (as far as they know) dooming all their friends. Wouldn't have saved anything.
