Also true. You don't make history by following orders and playing by the rules.

Assuming she's actually in, immediate loss of rank, and given the current political climate, and I fully expect the book to be thrown at her. Dishonorable discharge + prison time. But it's actually kinda hard to say too. JAG is its entirely own separate entity, so only they really know.

"We'll let our AI ethics department worry about that." "Oh...the same one that was just laid off a week ago?" ^ An almost verbatim interaction around AI ethics while I was at MSFT.

Right click on to open a menu and searching for "copy email address" is far less muscle memory, more mouse movement, and slower (for me) than "double click text, ctrl+c", or click -> drag -> ctrl+c

"Contrast? never heard of it."

It's never too early for a dystopia!

I can't even be bothered to change how my default email opens, you think I'm gonna develop a browser extension?? You have a lot more faith in me than I do

This graphic is probably old, when I was in , they removed the warning shot. But yea escalation of force is what I was referencing

Yea not gonna pretend the Army didn't have its own set of issues, and maybe it's because I joined as a medic as well, but valuing life was definitely a core pilrinciple. Along with the very real threat of going to Fort Leavenworth
comment in response to post
Yea exactly, joined as a medic at 17 after I finished high school with parental consent. I finished basic training and was half way through medic school before I turned 18

I don't like ui controls that use up / down arrow keys because I can no longer scroll with my keyboard when I interact with them. It's also a little bit more than that too. "if I click something, should that give it focus" Because by clicking a radio, I can no longer keyboard scroll.
comment in response to post
Although, usually what happens is I click somewhere on the page to blur, and that works fine with most radios. For some reason haven't quite figured it out, some pages still seem to keep focus on the radio even though I blurred off of it. Haven't quite found the common pattern for that yet.

yes it is standard behavior. Just because its the standard, doesn't mean I have to like it.

i was 17 when I was taught Shout Show Shove Shoot and to do everything in your power not to be the one to fire the first shot, and if you do, you better be right. This is what happens when theres no consequences for your actions.

i hate context menus, and dont use them enough to remember where the "copy email address" item is. its far less muscle memory than copy / pasting for me

wiki.postgresql.org/wiki/Tempora... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SQL:2011 hypirion.com/musings/impl... www.red-gate.com/simple-talk/... Essentially they're a way to allow "system-versioned tables" but built into postgres and without needing C extensions, or libraries like PaperTrail in Rails.

Warning shots are also a strict "no-no" downrange, for a multitude of reasons. You either shoot to kill, or don't shoot at all. And in a riot...how do you tell the difference between a warning shot and a shot to kill? Rules of engagement are downrange are generally: Shout Show Shove Shoot

if you got anything you can share, always happy to help. Sometimes "module augmentation" can be a cheaper way to clear the bug.
comment in response to post
And the other thing is, sometimes I'm not looking to send an email to that mailto: address. Sometimes I want to copy it and paste it into an email as contact info for someone.
comment in response to post
Sure. But occasionally I dont get the right click sweet spot on my laptop right. easier to click -> drag or double click. Which is annoying on links because if you start your selection on the link, you just drag the link instead of updating selection. I know I can configure it....but im lazy...

just happened to me twice and i was like "i should probably fix this"...but just can't be bothered

i'll definitely be actively engaging in putting my phone through a wall...thats for sure.

Thanks. I hate it. When things jump around the screen, it makes me wanna throw my phone out the window.

If you don't fall under any of these waivers, then the only thing you can do is leave the country, hope that you can get a visa (good luck, you may wait a few months, you may wait 10+ years), and once you get a visa, enter the country via a "port of entry" and present to an immigration officer.
comment in response to post
Usually the only way around this is filing specific forms around things like: - being a victim of abuse - medical reasons - hardship reasons - asylum or some other very specific reasons in order to get a waiver. www.uscis.gov/policy-manua...

*residency, not citizenship.
comment in response to post
Also worth noting, DACA recipients don't have any direct pathway to citizenship. while they are eligible via marriage to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, family-based petitions, or employment-based green cards, the biggest hurdle is entering the country without "inspection" (a visa)
