That's one strategy indeed. Smaller but also less ambitious. Sometimes sharing should be raw and a neutral activity - everything doesn't have to be a deep and thoughtful expression in itself.

Quoting atomic habits: "eliminate friction for good habits". It might also be too hard to share? As an example: Could you leave a tripod or camera by your 3D printer or table to make it easy to shoot a quick update when a print is done?

Consider scheduling time to follow through, if you see engagement on the short form and you feel like it.

Reflect on this: Does the sharing of a project feel like a project in itself? If yes, does it have to? Could you de-scope it somehow - instead of a blog post, could it be a post on Bluesky? Instead of a 15 minutes vlog, could it be a short?

Most definitely π Really frustrated about the loading times of the GitHub UI and lack of productivity oriented features.

That's neat. Like a localhost reverse-proxy tunnel, but for apps π

I sort of got that from the original screencast and message π
I might be asking for something more abstract πWould this be useful for someone building an app which they want to show off on their website? Or perhaps an author of a UI library?

Even the constantly shifting and super chaotic TLDraw board was part of that, let's "just hack this together" vibe. It was broken - and I loved every minute of it! π€£

I think the adhoc-ness and roughness of the event .. the fact that it's under-invested, gives a bit less pressure on achieving an outcome, which makes people less reluctant to facilitate a discussion.

I thoroughly enjoyed the community day! I loved how we were able to get together around the topics that were on our minds .. at that particular time .. without too much (if any) prepartion.

I've had great experiences with fisheye lenses and the Logitech ConferenceCam Connect in particular a few years back - it's a bit dated, but perhaps a good balance between cost and performance now-a-days.

Unrealistically spicy ... You seem way too nice to be this narrow-minded π

Thanks @schickling.dev for a great presentation. I particularly enjoyed how the slides progressed referenced back into the early ideas of React and Flux. Great stuff!

What a perfect example of how two seemingly contradictory statements can be true at the same time π

Interesting approach π My understanding is that people would say their breakfast up front, to steer the conversation into something valuable to them. Am I correct in assuming you're the one initiating (and steering) a lot of the conversations you have at conferences, then?

I agree with other commenters, no need to be polite. We're commanding the computer and expert a concise and direct response.
I do however like a suggestive proposition when knows a possible fix: "To resolve this, you can ..." or "To resolve this, run ..."

I like it - a nice length and interesting observation. Are these roles fluid to you? Sometimes taking one on, sometimes the other? And perhaps it's a skill in itself to pick the right one for any given collaboration.

I wonder how distracting or cool it would look if each char was a random 90%-100% opacity. (And potentially a barely noticeable random x/y offset). π€

Similar/ tangential to the "transition" mode, it would be interesting to have primitives to help you patch files (ex read a package.json, add a dependency and a "script" entry).

Whenever I use these template instantiating tools in an existing package, I would love a `--dry-run` option, to see what changes will be committed before actually running the command.
