I've been working on a new blog in my spare time where I try and think about the intersection of the Web and current AI trends. šŸ‘‰ aifoc.us I've started with a couple of essays and I'm keen for more feedback and recommendations for areas to write about.

Fantastic talk (ty @quail.bsky.social for sharing)! @en.sitnik.ru is right: the best way to avoid implementing a GDPR pop-up is to not need one at all. Limit data collection to GDPR-compatible analytics, get rid of third party js (including sneaky stuff like GA Fonts via CDN!) and respect your users

We upgrade Laravel framework in web app from v5.0 to v10 with incremental approach.

A month ago, I submitted proposal in @laracon.au as a speaker. But unfortunately, couple days ago, my proposal isn't selected. Well, although I'm bit sad with the result at least I have try rather than never. This is a second times I submitted proposal as a speaker outside my country. #LaraconAU

IMHO, make this the default, github: github.com/ghostty-org/...

Job hunting is a truly soul-sucking experience, so I'm posting my CV here just incase one of you needs a technical leader with web standards, dev advocacy, or strategy experience. Wanted to build Full Screen support for Bezel on macOS it was so useful to watch these old WWDC talks from when Apple introduced the feature. Don't really get why Apple took those offline. Happy I could easily look them up at WWDC Index ( wwdcindex.com ) and watch the video there! šŸ‘

Rethinking SvelteKit? Hmm, wait a minute. I think I have heard the word of "Rethinking" before. If you know you know.

I spare my time before sleep to watch and listen story telling of Svelte Promises by @rich-harris.dev. I don't expect that Rich has pre-alpha, alpha, beta, and original version of himself. 🤯

True!

It's weekend! I build LadyBird browser in my MacBook Air M1 256GB 8GB. I build with command `CC=$(brew --prefix llvm)/bin/clang CXX=$(brew --prefix llvm)/bin/clang++ ./Meta/ladybird.sh run`. Here's the progress.

Shipped 3MB JS just for text, image, and video. What the hell! I was thinking "AI is smarter" but it's dumb. This is not acceptable!

Wrote about the end of Glitch - the platform, the union, the dreams, and the technical debt that killed it all. Tried to keep it honest but not too spicy. Been gone a year now but felt like the community deserved some context šŸ’ž

"i would love to have a girlfriend, but my open source projects are more important"

i might be looking for a new role, staff developer, remote uk/us tef.computer i am pretty good at the whole "fixing distributed systems" stuff but i'm also pretty good at the "levelling up a team" stuff too

The guest blog post is finally out! Huge thanks to Chris and Budi for accepting my proposal. Hope you have a good read. sveltejobs.com/blog/increme...

svelte kinda stopped marketing performance as a feature because "react is fast enough" but... it just isn't. so many of these stories. maybe the compiler will fix it. anyway the real money quote is "Features that took days in React could be built in hours with Svelte". many such cases!

For all of you Nextjs users, I am working on a fullstack nextjs course I am trying to gather personal frustrations around Nextjs to gear content. Feel free to share this. Hoping to get a decent amount of feedback!

You can do cool things with Svelte attachments like this GSAP timeline attachment. šŸ”„

I went to figure out why the gatsbyjs.com lighthouse performance score had jumped up ~10 points in the last 24 hours and found that Google Tag Manager was 404-ing šŸ˜…

I'm totally agree!
