I’m just saying that because when Trump was “inquiring” (allegedly) about the possibility of preemptive pardons for his family, the media was exclaiming how this practically admits guilt, he didn’t do it, but Biden did.

Some would agree to the same level of scrutiny for anyone taking an oath of office.
This oath explicitly commits to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States," which is the part directly relating to protecting the country from outside threats that are not vetted thoroughly.
