I think in the coming years we’ll see a shift to a more Mexican/Central American model that will merge nicely with a general US attitude that cops have no obligation to answer to the proles/outer party. Masks will be part of an enshrinement of Officer’s Rights

I should be incredulous that anyone needs to know anything further about a guy who offers strangers money to bear and raise his children, but then again this is a country that puts people like Trump and RFK Jr in high office rather than in prison

There’s an insistence that the goal of activism is not to effect political change but just to struggle, that winning votes is selling out, that support doesn’t count if it’s “kicking and screaming.” I’d say this was an unfair caricature but for all the hollering dogs it inevitably arouses

My band played a conference in Toronto during this era and it seemed like every act was drums/guitar/bass + 16 people each with one small percussion instrument, which with either explosive enthusiasm or stonefaced cool they tapped once every four bars as they tried not to fall off the tiny stage

One minute we’re insisting the opposition has levers of power they somehow just refuse to employ, and the next we’re treating an unclever jibe like it’s the Manhattan Project

“So did you get that shot of six perfectly presentable women in their underwear just before they go to town sexually with one delighted looking guy?”
“Sure did, boss, made it look like the most tedious experience imaginable, just like you asked”

Thank you. It really did hit home how funerals are for the living, and it motivated me to ensure, when my mom died, that no one who wanted to be a part of her funeral was excluded. So something positive came from the experience, at least

So counterintuitive to not get good results from installing people in a position where they don’t know how and don’t intend to do the job

I can’t view my parents’ and siblings’ mugshots on the county sheriff’s website from overseas, but it’s all DUIs and burglarizing pharmacies and whatnot rather than their fallen nature listed therein

This is the problem with the Rogan But Left idea. People who can nod along with media for hours on end already have their political switches configured a certain way. This stretches back past Fox News, Limbaugh, AM talk radio, to the very dawn of broadcasting

Is envy a weird thing to feel when friends and acquaintances announce funerals or post memorials for their loved ones? To be jealous of those lucky jerks who get to send off a dearly departed from the best seat in the house? Who don’t have to Google a parent’s obituary? Who can say

You’re a better person than I am, but for my part, each successive day in a society that accepts these shrieking grotesques as our betters turns me more into Jonathan “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” Edwards
