i donnu what chip you have on your shoulder. you clearly haven't lived the asian american experience. no society is perfect but making blanket judgments like this is just rage-baiting and ignorant.

i dont like this or the vignelli. the default one works best bc its based on real cartographic pyschology. the abtracted ones are for people who are not physically standing on a street

Hi Mike, Do you think some of them would be open to coming in-person to a Workshop Im hosting for professionals involved in rebuilding efforts. I was at the Altadena site yesterday and there were tons of people doing debris removal w/o the EPA sign off. and no PPE

Hi Becky, I’m going to follow up with your email bc we secured a location for the outreach at ArtCenter College of Design. World Central Kitchen will provide meals. I have been to the area to see what’s going on. Need to understand how to center on community and hear from ppl in your situation.

“solar-ready” (which used to be policy till it went into full effect) does not cost that much and is a sustainable solution to future integration. it’s as simple as writing this note “To be solar-ready” and running a conduit.

any Habitat for humanity connects here I can reach out to for a volunteer event ? @habitatforhumanity.bsky.social
comment in response to

reach out if interested. Ideally it would be planned with others in the giant RebuildLA Slack group channel #volunteer-feb15 (I can dm you an invite link). Can include tax, insurance, financial advisors, altho we need a vetting or standardized system/protocols.

I also need volunteer help: Sponsors, Venue (I have some but we may need to go larger-community or outdoor flex spaces are best) AV, recording/sound/video, catering, setup/breakdown.

Instead of formatting as a Q and A, I might communicate it more to be a Worskhop— intended to get tools to building professionals, leaders and homeowner advocates to start organizing together to help their friends, families, constituents or clients.

We already have:
-land use planner
-architect/builder who built 45 homes post Sonoma/Tubbs fire, many ppl whom he knew personally, he knows best practices for neighbors to group together for faster, cost effective rebuilds.
-interested in including local elected officials, policy/planning folks.

I’m organizing an East side focused event bringing together experts and locals. Would love to chat with you more about what you think is important, what you would like to understand better, etc. I’m gathering info on how home owners can have agency in the process.
