I truly believe this is the way, but I think the city also demands the parade so I think the con's hands are partially tied to find a solution.

Yeah it's pretty shitty. I've barely seen any since leaving PA

Also if you did waves, there's no way to tell how long it's going to take to get x number of people in the first wave through to know when to setup the next wave. And the parade really messes up the flow of the con space so it'd be hard to get people to the staging area once it starts

Well they have the city install barricades for the parade route and chairs for the public to sit, so if you had multiple parades, you'd need to leave all that setup for days and the public isn't going to want to come multiple times to see parts of it. It's mainly for the normies, not the attendees.

I don't think they've done a pic since they moved the dealers into hall A instead of the parade a couple years ago. Which honestly the big hall is much better used for dealers than the parade.

They do not even do the fursuit pic anymore because it's so hard to do. It's been just the parade for a couple years now.

Just make the block party bigger and longer. Then literally everyone can participate and come and go at their own pace throughout the day. No waiting for the 3000 fursuits in front of you to get out the door because you didn't line up 3 hours early to get down the 2 escalators to the street.

What? The length of the parade is directly tied to how many people march in it. How does making it smaller make it more difficult to suit in it? Unless you have to power to install more escalators, the parade can only be 2 people wide and chokes the whole line

No I am not affiliated with the con in any way. Literally the past couple years since the pandemic the parade has been the perfect time to go to dealers because it's finally not packed wall to wall. I will never do the death march again. The fairest way to make it smaller imo is to get rid of it

Yes there's probably a better way to cap the parade, but rather than just spewing hate at the con over the rules, maybe offer a solution to their problem of how to make the parade smaller more fairly. Because we can't keep letting it get bigger.

It's okay to be upset with a rule, but you need to understand it's not because it's classist. They have to set some kind of standard because if they don't cull the amount of people in the parade, people are going to hurt themselves trying to do it. Please don't attack the volunteers over this.

Yes some people are well equipped to do marathon suit sessions. Some people have the experience and the stamina for it. But you know who doesn't? Most people. I take photos of fursuits and literally every one of them needed to hit the headless lounge after 60-90 minutes of walking around the con.

It truly needs to go. I understand that the city loves it, but there's a reason why every con once it hits a couple thousand attendees drops their parade. AC is one of the biggest fur cons in the world. It's beyond the need to get rid of it. It's not safe to have people be in suit that long.

As a fellow ace person, it definitely sucks having to deal with that kind of overstepping boundaries. I do hope it's more accidental rather than simply not caring.

I love it when people delete their history with you but not on your end so they try to awkwardly reach out to you for the "first" time and you have to sit there like "do you not see the previous chat history that failed miserably?"
