No Kings march in Kirkland @kurt.social #nokings #kirkland #kirklandwa

I’m heartbroken & disgusted by the targeted political attack that took the lives of State Rep. Melissa Hortman & her husband, Mark. My prayers are with State Sen. John Hoffman & his wife, Yvette. We must condemn political violence in all forms. Our democracy depends on it.

Stunned and horrified at this news. This is wrong . Political violence can never be tolerated in America—it’s a direct assault on democracy. My thoughts today are with the victims and their loved ones in Minnesota. We need swift justice & full accountability.

My kids know an American flag when they see one – but they don't yet know all that it represents. When they're old enough, here is what I'm going to tell them:

What a fantastic day at the Future of EasTrail Workshop! 🚲 I had a great ride down the Cross-Kirkland Corridor segment of the #EasTrail to join the discussion. I was so honored to be invited to participate as a trusted community and active transportation advocate.

Such a heartwarming evening last night. ❤️ My family and I had a great time cooking and serving my vegetarian chili 🌶️, a new cornbread recipe 🌽, and salad 🥗 for ~50 of our neighbors at the LWUMC Safe Parking Program's community dinner.

Density and trees can be friends. 🌲❤️🏙️

Oh hey! That's me! I'm really looking forward to participating in this event with some really amazing folks!

Shocker.

Love volunteering with the Green Kirkland Partnership! It's so satisfying to see our parks transform from overgrown blackberry to thriving native habitats. After more than a decade with GKP, the positive change in our parks and community is amazing to witness.

🚍 Proud to be endorsed by ATU 587! 🚊 Transit workers keep Seattle moving—and they’re key to our climate and equity goals. I’m committed to a strong, sustainable system that serves us all. Grateful for their partnership! 💪🛠️🚌

🌻🌸Had a blast volunteering at the Juanita Garden Tour today—sunshine, blooms, and great neighbors. Big thanks to the Juanita Neighborhood Association and all the gardeners who shared their yards. Kirkland’s got roots—and heart. 🌿juanitagardentour.org

this is like drake and kendrick lamar but they're both drake

This is a choice. We've chosen this. We don't have to keep choosing this.

I have seen SO many bicycles being used for transportation today. This is at stop 2 at the hardware store. The number I passed at Chainline Station, at pickleball courts, at other stores, etc. is inspiring.

Listened on the bike ride to/from the doctor today. Was not disappointed. I also share in the gratitude for @jessdbateman.bsky.social expressed therein.

Remember when Republicans tried to create their own version of "The Daily Show"? Or does anyone remember "Air America"? I'm not a huge fan of trying to copy the other folks.

Traffic fatalities are a choice.

Do you travel in Bellevue at all? Do you wish it were safer to do so? Spend a few moments and send a letter: actionnetwork.org/letters/safe...

🐾 We had an adorable guest at Coffee Outside last week. 💙 Join me for coffee (or tea) and great conversation every Wednesday morning 7am-9am(ish) at the Kirkland Rotary Central Station (Everest neighborhood)!

Adaptive reuse for housing. Not just for humans, apparently.

People parking in the street in neighborhoods isn't a bad thing. It's part of why this street is so quiet and nobody speeds here.

OMG you all IT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW

🧹🌤️Thanks to everyone who came out for the Kirkland Downtown Association’s Clean Sweep yesterday! We had a blast getting Kirkland’s iconic summer hotspot ready for a busy season at the lakefront.

Does life get better than this?

at first you think "ah the dog is passively having fun" and then you realize the dog knows how to steer the skateboard and THEN you learn the dog knows how to PROPEL the skateboard

Cities choose to defer to a handful of noisy residents who _think_ they are insulated from high housing costs, but also reliably complain about high property taxes and brittle public services. High housing costs drive up the cost of almost EVERYTHING ELSE.
