A very scary bill just passed in Ohio for transgender folks. No one but local LGBTQ+ orgs are talking about it. First, Ohio is only recognizing sex assigned at birth, male or female. You can get in trouble for stating otherwise on documents, I imagine. I may need to change my state ID back. 1/5

Several of my books have been banned and challenged. I've never seen them on banned books displays. Being banned has, if anything, decreased my sales. Worse, it sends a message to the queer kids I wrote the books for that their stories are shameful and something to be hidden away.

It will not surprise any of you to learn, I think a lot about taxonomy. The current system we use (Linnean classification) groups animals by common descent, and uses similarity of structures and the fossil record to try and do so accurately. "How closely related are these, in evolutionary terms?"
