Work in progress on Vancouver's west side. Not a 'granny cottage' styled lane house, but making the most of a small / sloped rear yard.

Time to shake things up.

Power walking the nearly finished phase 1 of the St George Rainway, on the way home from the office. Time to start agitating for phase 2 ;) @cityofvancouver.bsky.social @greenestcity.bsky.social

Sure Euro commissions might be nice, but I’d rather have euro elevators for projects at home…

“What’s next after #Passivhaus ?” Here’s the video of my talk last week with @phaccelerator.bsky.social > about Lanefab’s Dalebright Passive House in @cityofburnaby.bsky.social - and how we need to look beyond the building itself when working to address the climate crisis. youtu.be/aZa8mzmDIiE

SSHH! Single Stair Happy Hour - Vancouver coming soon... date and time tbd, but probably the evening of wed July 9 after the ULI talk I'm doing in the morning

So is duolingo down?

Prefab is great, but have you tried outright zoning?

Reposting the redacted version of the @vancouvermagazine.bsky.social feature on our work - by @fabulavancouver.bsky.social August 2024. The online version was previously corrected (at our request) to describe Bryn as a “designer”. (Of course this is a thread) 🧵

Air-tight building envelopes save energy and increase durability (if done properly). It also provides a great climate ROI because a little bit of material (tape, caulking etc) goes a long way toward reducing energy use and emissions. That said, air-tightness can also be the biggest challenge 🧵

Nice to see @saanichbc.bsky.social @tealepb.bsky.social pushing for euro elevators. This is the other leg of the stool, along with #singlestair code changes, and small lot multi family zoning. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Two down one to go.
