S Asians don’t play any other major sport compared to West Indians. S Asians are also much closer to their legacy countries than poorer West Indians who rarely go back to the Caribbean compared to Asians who often return

Why are the bowlers no where near as good or as fast as their 80s predecessors?

Cricket authorities conspired to make it unattractive to attend. No instruments, no banners, expensive tickets, restrictions on overseas players in English cricket weakened WI cricket as players depended on these contracts to make a living and learn the trade

My wife got the spare bedroom as an office. I had to build an office out in the garden. But here I can also practice guitar, watch sport and play music.

Sad. He had one job to do. Beat Trump and serve one term before handing over to a new generation of Dems. He and his family got too used to the WH to give it up.

The UK isn’t the US or Canada or Australia, built by migrants. It’s closer to European nations in this respect. We have tried being like the latter and it isn’t working as assimilation has been defined by the migrant not the broader society.

And you’ll work for the same company your whole career. When Dalglish left Celtic for Liverpool did you think he was a traitor to Celtic? Of course not. Football fans are like permanent 6 year olds

Catholic Church succumbed to political pressure from Trump and Vance. Not a good look for the church. The picture of Trump done up in Papal dress scared them into doing this act. Will set the church back decades.

Where UK needs to be careful will be the volume of Indian expats that come and the number that stay longer than 3 years. Brits going to India are more likely to return within 3 years than Indians coming to the UK. Long-term settlement needs to be prevented.

Correct. The establishment is our deep state. British people deep down want to be in this establishment not outside it. Hence the long success of Tories in industrial towns of the North. Farage is part of the establishment but pretends he isn’t. But the working class want someone to doth the cap to

Remind me - how many Labour governments has there been? People keep saying they want Labour to be socialist. It’s never been socialist. It is social democratic. There’s a difference. Labour had never been for revolution.

Whilst Trump was judging Beaty pageants in Atlantic City, scientists and engineers were building and optimising supply chains. He thought making a smartphone was easy.

There’s a bigger problem with all of the UKs foundation industries- steel, concrete, glass, chemicals that successive governments have ignored. Ownership has passed to overseas investors making strategic decisions and energy costs are strangling UK production

Just seen Episode 1. Why would 13 year olds be wondering around town centre at 9-10pm? I don’t know if this gets discussed later on but no kid of 13 should be out at this time.

Elimination of poverty cannot be achieved by ever increasing benefit payments Jeremy
comment in response to

@uklabourparty.bsky.social cannot be the party of poverty. It was set up to help workers. There’s a difference which the party has to understand. Workers are paying to whack taxes and can’t pay more. The benefits bill is too high.

I grew up in the 70/80s when we had 3 million unemployed quite suddenly and whole industries disappeared. We had to adapt to these new technologies called computers. Change and disruption always happens

@mrjamesob.bsky.social most youngsters don’t know what is expected in the outside world because they don’t read newspapers or watch/listen to the news. We did in the 70s and 80s and learned how tough the world of work was and about unemployment so were prepared to face it.
