The 2nd sentence in the article says "Gas has a much smaller carbon footprint than coal" which with 20/20 hindsight we now know is wrong. Blame Pope for ignoring the damage of fracking, but not the climate impact of methane which he's been warning about since 2022 www.salon.com/2022/08/18/a...

Doesn't the 7-2 SCOTUS ruling show that there are at least two justices who will bend themselves and the Constitution backwards to give Trump free rein?

No surprise. ICE will resort to any dirty trick in its fanatical effort to enforce Trump's fatwa against immigrants.

It's the ICC not the ICJ that has issued a warrant for Netanyahu's arrest.

Hanlon's razor may apply here - perhaps the agents assumed New Mexico was a foreign country 🤔

Blackstone's ratio says "It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer." Trump's ratio is the reverse: "It is better that ten innocent persons suffer than that one guilty escape."

I regret the futility of this remarkable research and reporting effort. Biden’s State Dept "asked Israel for an explanation but didn’t get one." As usual the Israeli military said the incident is "under review." Trump's State Dept couldn't care less and Americans are inured to the daily death count.

The EU has made a Faustian bargain with Turkey, paying it hold millions of Syrian refugees and prevent them from crossing to Greece.

Restrictions on Actblue would make it difficult or impossible for millions of Americans overseas to donate to Democratic candidates and campaigns.

"anger and indignation" in opposition is as effective as "thoughts and prayers" in sympathy, and no substitute for action.

I just heard your Morning Edition interview with Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Troy Edgar about Mahmoud Khalil, and all I can say is: you're my hero! 👏👏 (watch out @npr.org, she may get poached by BBC Hardtalk 😉)

It's cynical to assume that people are not giving much thought to others. In this case they are responding to a plea for help from her parents. Obviously it's easier to express sympathy and take action for a person whose name and individual predicament are known than for anonymous multitudes.
