Whatever the four EFTA members say, there will not be the needed 27 votes among the EU Council members (and likely fewer during ratification).
We 🇪🇺 promised not to make new UK punishing rules.
But we never said we would do anything to help soften the UK consequences of Brexit

The UK is very far from the Copenhagen Criteria - "and exceed" you must be joking.
The EU is a law and rule based organisation and the ECJ is a core part of that.
Outside military and security it's membership or the TCA with minor mitigations

EFTA has in itself very little to do with the EU.
It's the EEA for IS, LI, NO and the 'monster' of 120+ guillotine locked agreements with CH describing the relations to the EU.
Schengen and the SM with full FoM is the core of this.
Legacy deals, not to be repeated
