I don't know if I have ever felt more conflicted about the outcome of a major immigration news story. Because he is being paroled back in he won't be eligible for release on bond by an IJ, and ICE will never voluntarily release him. And these charges will take a long time to try.

10 years is the general period of not from a country colonized by Spain or with a special relationship. It’s 5 years as a refugee; shorter for exceptions such as married to a Spanish citizen.

AOC may have been referring to that, quite likely. Lots of people, not so much.

I think some international papers are close to along these lines. Maybe not 100%, but close. I’ve been checking covers of papers in a few countries (sometimes more), mostly in Europe, on www.kiosko.net for the past few months. A few that I took screenshots of

In 2021, the final round of voting ended with more than 140K exhausted ballots, or ones that didn't list either of the final two candidates — 20 times Adams's margin of victory. If about 5% of those had listed Garcia in any of the five slots she would have beaten Adams.

Because people were saying “the girls are fighting,” along the old tropes that women are too emotional. Factually, these are men. Chromosomes don’t cause someone to act this way, but societal norms and prejudices still impact what women (and those in other groups) can do and be in leadership.

Acting that way has nothing to do with chromosomes.

Contemplating the strange situation I may find myself in soon- defending Elon Musk against government investigations if it appears they are being done for political reasons rather than to pursue accountability and the rule of law.

We had an uber-qualified woman running in 2024 in Kamala Harris, and she lost to a convicted felon who supported an insurrection. We had an uber-qualified woman running in 2016 in Hillary Clinton, and she lost to the same unproven reality TV star and real estate fraud.

I called and it does include full primary coverage and will cover any charges due to collisions or damage. I need to wait until the charges go through and until my statement later this month to submit a claim, but I should get a full refund 🙏🏼
