Brexiters: We left the EU so that we can strike trade deals of our own. Labour: We've agreed deals with India, the USA, and an improved arrangement with the EU. Brexiters: Traitors! Betrayers! (Even if you don't think much of the actual deals, the Brexiter response remains irrational.)

Feels almost cruel to point out that all the bollocks about our 10% tariffs being a 'Brexit benefit' lasted for about four days. But here we are...

Broadly as predicted that if you make trade with your nearest market harder there will be a fall in exports. Worth noting that an SPS deal doesn't automatically mean all of these losses are reversed - as there are many different barriers. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

This is a key constituent of fascism & the very essence of ā€˜Muskism’: promoting bullshit, silencing truth-tellers & calling the whole grift ā€˜free speech’. Twitter as a rehearsal for the USA.

This is the best way to get others, esp journalists/politicians to join. It’s not necessarily ideological, it’s practical: a far better social media experience/way more useful for work.

The liars, of course, have all moved on to new cons & deceptions. The fishing industry can't. A vaguely honest media would be holding Farage & the rest to account for this instead of promoting a meaningless petition... www.plymouthherald.co.uk/news/plymout...

Post-Brexit Britain’s Trump problem goes much deeper than trade tariffs. New post on my Brexit & Beyond Blog. The discussion of how the UK might respond to Trump's tariffs is already confused, and anyway misses the bigger challenge they betoken: chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.com/2024/11/post...
