I'm at a meeting at my public library. It is a community garden orientation, and plots are very cheap. Volunteer hours are used for maintenance and growing food for soup kitchens and the community. If you have front wheel drive and begin to skid, turn your steering wheel in the direction your rear tires are moving. If you haven't done a lot of driving in snowy/icy conditions this seems counterintuitive. But, really, this is how you recover from a skid. I had to do this on my morning commute.

Remember that you were raised on stories about hyperindividualistic chosen ones where saving the entire world is the minimum win condition. It's fine to tune your expectations down from that a smidge. You're not going to dethrone god today but maybe do something nice for your neighbors.
