Pity the nation — oh, pity the people who allow their rights to erode and their freedoms to be washed away.
My country, tears of thee, sweet land of liberty.

The "alarm bell" has been ringing for years, not months.

You said federal, not state. And, something DOES happen. My brother did what you are suggesting (5 years worth), and he wasn't rich. It took him twice as many years to pay it off, with interest. Trump's IRS will want your money.

Democrats in Congress have been sounding the alarm on and before January 20, 2017. It's not encouraging that you haven't noticed.

We voted. She won. We decided. (As for retiring before turning 65, that is exclusively your preogative.)

It sounds like you don't realize what FEMA does, and the order in which they do it, and why. Trump has weakened FEMA & that's political. FEMA doesn't know the political persuasion of the person being pulled from the water. At least this is still up and available to read.

It doesn't matter who the Senate confirms, every one of them will do Trump's bidding to weaken their small slice of government to the best of their ability. With all Republicans in Congress turning their heads away as if they don't see a problem to fix.

Trump is again playing with all his toys in the White House. He says that China -- "they very much want to make a deal. We can all play games" -- which translates to I have all the toys, much better toys than you have, and you can't play with them.
It's a game to him & everyone is a pawn.

The judge rules, the Trump administration ignores it. The rulings come after the damage has been inflicted. Not one agency has been put back together to function properly. Anything Trump's policies have touched is still damaged - which is the intention - to weaken.

And all Republicans in Congress are painted with the same veneer of concern as Sen. Susan Collins. Please note that there are never enough crossover Republican votes to sink their self-serving pieces of legislation.

I have. Where were you when Trump's cabinet gushed over their dear leader in 2017?

Even when a Fox journalist (some would say there aren't any) manages to include a bit of truth in an article, tv show, or Fox poll, it seems to be purposely ignored. Their ability to judge what is true, does not seem to be a skill that most Fox readers and listeners wish to access.

WA state's AG website has "Social Security" in the list, but it only sends you to guess where - the federal website for SS. However, I did file a general "complaint" with the State AG - really a request to do as Michigan & Arizona have done.

Both NASA and the European Space Agency paid and developed Hubble - fascinating pictures. However, it would be so like Trump to get a bug up his but and find a way to pull the plug on access.

The war of Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld. It's not illegal when the (GOP's) president does it & the US Supreme Court agrees.

The courts did order Trump not to deport, and for plane/s in the air to turn around. Trump has defied the courts. Despite any court's order, absolutely no one and nothing, has been even remotely returned to a fully functioning part of gov't or society.

The future of Meta & Zucky is predetermined. These are Trump's people at the FTC, and Trump isn't going to bite the hand that fed him millions. There are "pro-bono" judgeships to be offered eventually. The only reshaping being done, is of shaping America into a dictatorship.

So, as I understand it, we no longer have a Republic functioning as intended under our constitution. It's seems clear that we now have a President setting up his own gov't as the head of an authoritarian military dictatorship. It's Trump's dream, as El Salvador's Bukele set up a gov't just like it.

As a former staffer of Senator Kennedy, he didn't blow very hard on that whistle. He's not a scientist, nor a doctor. He's just giving a personal opinion. About tobacco mostly. DEI was "around the edges", also his personal opinion.

Leonard Leo and the Koch Bro's aren't the ones that filed the lawsuit. The New Civil Liberties Alliance filed it on behalf of a client not named Koch or Leo. The tie to Koch or Leo (who have not weighed in on this) is a loose connection.

New Civil Liberties Alliance filed the lawsuit "on behalf of Simplified, a Florida-based home goods company whose business relies on imported materials from China". Leo & Koch didn't join the suit and are still on board w/ taking down our government.

Trump wants to renege on the 1903 deal "Hay-Bunau-Varilla Treaty, in which the U.S. agreed to pay Panama $10 million for a perpetual lease on land for the canal, plus $250,000 annually in rent." It's not to Panama's benefit to renegotiate w/ Trump.

The translation is that the people of America are about to be thrown over a financial cliff by the Trump administration. Someone doesn't understand that those on the Trump Admin Train will be financially fine, they aren't worried. Please explain how harming us will be "harming him" & the Trump crew.

I know MSNBC/NBC has been undergoing changes of staff, and reorganization. Many behind the scenes staff have been fired, even some on Rachel's team. That gutting, is concerning. She seems to be playing it safe, and so has her producer, Steven Benen. So, "What's up" is a good question.

Trump is radical & dangerous, yes. You didn't need a bowling ball and Trump's gibberish to write the piece. Like Maddow says, it's what he does (and the real world impact of his actions), not what he says (shiny object gibberish that distracts). Sorry I'm more cynical in my old age.

Maddow owes us one extra day on TRMS (I'm sure Susan won't mind). FYI: where are all the investigative stories you used to do? Miss those. Marching & protesting in solidarity & I participate in them, but I don't want to watch a whole half hour of it on TV. I want to know what's going on in the WH.

Bringing back the "old hits" would be fine when it helps to explain the real time, real world, real people, impact of Trump & crew destroying the administrative state. That bowling ball is a shiny object you are using so you won't have to dig deeper. Hands off, quit picking up the shiny objects.

Graham's excuse for this admin is that Trump's "White House truly has no idea what it’s doing". Wrong. Trump is deliberate, ruthless, & is doing "exactly what he said he was going to do" - by eliminating the Administrative State & the US Constitution, Trump's crew is currently destroying America.

Insurance companies went through our neighborhood canceling contracts on old houses for fixable reasons, yet not accepting the fix once done. Soon after, real estate contractors bought up houses, subdivided the lots to build two homes. It's legal, but they didn't get our.
