Michael Jordan in retirement was notoriously horrible at scouting young players.

Syriana. Well-written and deeply intelligent, with Clooney’s best performance by a mile. Also the only spy thriller constructed around the FCPA, so kind of relevant these days.

Wonder what changed at the paper between 2019 and now? Oh, right.

There’s no alt text on image but folks should know that too photo with cops in yellow masks is taken from the HBO series Watchmen. But that does not diminish the horribleness of masked ICE agents in the bottom photo at all.

Serious question: why aren’t Dems getting in front of every camera and calling this the MAGA Murder Bill? Factually accurate, aggressively partisan, and it’s got a beat you can dance to.

The two of them are doing Waiting for Godot this fall on Broadway. Serious. Like, totally.

My first call as a reporter on this story would be to COs at Fort Carson asking them about the feds’ active-duty claim. Sounds like BS.

The appearance of noting a diversion from the actual quote — like inserting an ellipses or a bracketed noun — is the very same stunt Stephen Glass pulled when he fabricated quotes from whole cloth.

Most serious profiles of Rubio written during his 2016 presidential bid touched upon the blatant opportunism that has shaped his political career since his days in the Florida statehouse. His vacuity is pretty well established, it seems.

If you’d like to hear that vibe updated for the 20s, check out Nick Cave’s latest Wild God. The album is co-produced by the same guy who produced Yoshimi and Soft Bulletin. Plus it’s an awesome album.

I wonder if I’m the only one who thinks the Trump Administration lied about paying El Salvador to gulag US immigrants, and that instead El Salvador is paying the USG for the slave labor. That in fact we have become a slaver nation, again.

Chris Jones suffered a cervical strain defending the tush push in this year’s Super Bowl. He lined up at an angle over the center so perhaps put himself at risk for an injury, but still an injury.

This season of white lotus could imho best be described as the great 12-step show. Almost all of this season’s themes —of spiritual sickness, of resentments about one’s past, of yearning for purpose — are cornerstones of recovery. Hence Rockwell’s monologue: it’s the heart of the show.

I called Schumer’s NYC office earlier today urging a “no” vote. I just called again to express my anger and they’ve now changed the voice message to the Xmas holiday vm saying they’re out of the office until Jan 3. Coward.

The demos for that album, which were released five years ago, are amazing. The demo version of “long snake moan” is deep-blues, raw-power, force-of-nature stuff.

Dems should hold a press conference each day simply itemizing in clear, blunt language all the things — rights, entitlements, protections, foodstuffs — we’ve lost in just the last 24 hours and how Trump/Musk are to blame. Each and every day. Occupy as much media space as possible. Drive it home.
