As I have been saying: Musk got what he wanted. Our federal networks and data systems will be compromised and untrustworthy until we burn them to the ground and start over.

This is great 😂

Nothing to add here tbh

I've never seen it so well put before.

We don't have inalienable rights if the established position is that the government can do whatever it wants to you unless you can afford to sue them.

Or, you know, ‘Trump, having been bribed, proceeds to sell the country while Republicans cheer him on.’ www.nytimes.com/2025/05/12/u...

“MYTH: There weren’t autistic people in the past. FACT: Who do you think categorized all the bugs? “

For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Sure, they doomed millions to painful, needless deaths, built camps, did away with due process, stole from the treasury, destroyed our reputation abroad, took bribes, put bigotry back into law, and thumbed their nose at the judges and lawyers who tried to rein them in - but what does the market say?

Please consider responding to my organization's action alert to defend the US Endangered Species Act from efforts by the Trump administration to damage its ability to recover endangered and threatened species. awionline.org/action-cente...

Historian here: “To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.” ― Theodore Roosevelt

America has never been subject to this level of authoritarianism, and quite frankly, sheer incompetence. Out of the ashes, this moment should radicalize us to embark on an era of new reform — of our economy, our democracy, and our commitment to social justice and the law.

Yep

If you think what happened to Rumeysa Ozturk can't happen to you because you're a citizen and she's not, you are sorely mistaken. Ozturk was snatched off the street not for being a national security threat but for having a wrong opinion. If we don't put a stop to this, it's coming for all of us.

This is the kind of energy we need.

Please stop idolizing Musk, and his companies, as though they possess some sort of technical genius. This is just stupid, showy, flashy waste. www.planetearthandbeyond.co/p/spacex-has...

The fact that Trump is siding with Russia and calling Zelenskyy a dictator is the latest tell that he is either compromised by Putin or so stunningly misinformed that it’s a shock he’s even able to have an opinion at all. I suppose it could be both.

This thread is a good one to keep in mind if you are just a decent human being.

Back in Nazi Germany, art that was deemed "degenerate" was piled up in the streets and burned. I think people are waiting for stuff like that to start happening. But we don't live in an era of physical media anymore. That art is just going to quietly vanish from streaming services one day.

Thanks, Clarence Thomas.

I have the same wish!

Occasional reminder that you cannot plant mature trees. The only way to get mature trees is to nurture and protect saplings, consistently, year over year. This is actually true for a lot of things. It’s just easiest to see it with trees.

Any time we see another CEO pony up a million for Trump’s inauguration, remember this headline.

TRUMP: I’m going to use the FBI illegally to go after my political enemies! BIDEN: Um, I guess I’ll pardon my son then because fuck that. MEDIA: Biden is breaking norms!

Really nice being able to watch the Boston Fleet on NESN! #PWHL

Anyone who is anti-vax is pro-death. Period. The science and data do not lie. And they don’t care about your podcast.
