He wants chaos, which is why it’s so important for protests to be peaceful and to not respond to their violence with more violence. The best thing to do with a narcissistic bully is to ignore him. It doesn’t mean you need to shut up.

Abusers get satisfaction from abusing. He gets pleasure seeing people in pain, whether it’s a sexual assault or publicly bulling a member of Congress. Think about the joy he’s getting from hurting the entire world. This is unfortunately how psychopathology works, unless it’s treated.

I think it’s very difficult for people who’ve never observed this type of deeply flawed (putting it mildly) character in action, to TRULY comprehend that said person could actually love causing pain, suffering & chaos. For those who’ve observed such characters in their own lives, sadly, its playbook

I think Trudeau is playing this well but it’s important to remember that you can’t mollify a malignant narcissist. Whatever you give him, he will ultimately ask for more. If you need to buy time with one, that’s one thing. But don’t think you can shut him down by being conciliatory to him.
