I'm not sure what you think American Fascism would look like - but it looks like this and it has happened HERE. Stay angry and get organized - and FIGHT back.

Don't forget people. Tonight is the premier of the PBS docuumentary about Hannah Arendt. 9 pm ET

I really do think this might be the worst Supreme Court of all time, which is saying something for an institution that coexisted with slavery These motherfuckers are even worse imo bc they are *also* out here using antebellum reasoning and pursuing antebellum goals but well post bellum!

To clear my mind - I did a top 10 with films there were not listed in NYT top 100. The image missing should be Muscle Shoals - a great documentary from 2013 (which wasn't in their database).

This is why reporters wanted him to win. They don’t mind all the death, destruction, and suffering as long as they get to ask him questions (that they then don’t follow up on)

“no totalitarian government can exist without terror and no terror can be effective without concentration camps." - Hannah Arendt

The fascism is out there for anybody who wants to see it.

Pack the Court. If we are serious about the defense of these rights, we pack the Court. Simple as that. They pack it back, we pack it again. We do it until we reach consensus on long-term reforms to the judiciary. I don't know what it's going to take for people to get it.

“No right is safe in the new legal regime the Court creates.” –Justice Sonia Sotomayor. One of the most chilling sentences I have ever read.

say it in native german though ron

Again. The Supreme Court is illegitimate. And just continuing to go along with all of this, accepting this garbage, pretending that it'll get fixed by a party that showed no desire to reform the Court or codify our rights or protections, will get us nowhere. This is a legitimacy crisis. Period.

when history reflects on how trump managed to so quickly and so thoroughly kneecap democracy, the role of the Roberts Court cannot be overstated. trump's an amoral monster, but his biggest successes were only possible thanks to conservative justices who would bless them

The Supreme Court is setting up a de facto presidential dictatorship, in which the president is immune to the law, can openly defy courts with no consequences, and courts are not even empowered to order him to stop disobeying the Constitution.

there is no jurisprudence at work here. the republican court believes that anything a republican president is presumptively constitutional, even if it directly violates the unambiguous constitutional text and causes total chaos in law and policy.

🚨By a 6–3 vote, the Supreme Court rules that universal injunctions likely exceed federal courts' authority and rolls back the injunctions protecting birthright citizenship from Trump's attack. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...

Finally got around to this...not definitive but not a bad start.
