What about the impressive strip? That sets it all up. Everyone is caught flat-footed and he never stopped pumping his knees. He's just having fun out there.

One other note - I knew that she had a relationship and had studied under Heidegger. But I didn't quite grasp the extent of it (or those intimate details).
Relationships and history are complicated and messy and she was immersed in both. That is to say, in Life.

I thought it was great as well.
Of course, I couldn't watch it and not get incredibly despondent. At the same time, motivated by her own courage.
I know her work but never her personal story. That was the biggest revelation to me. I had no idea she had been arrested and even sent to a camp.

Hey @jaketapper.bsky.social - here's an idea for your next book.
A politician showing grace and empathy while attending the funeral for a person who was killed by a right wing murderer who was shaped, in part, by the violent political rhetoric of our current president.

There's so much going on in the clip.
It's not just the empathy but contrast that with the reason there is a funeral.
Hate fueling right wing political violence.
A free suggestion for Jake Tapper's next book.
It is incredible that our country willingly went back to this "reign of cruelty."

That's too bad. He looks like a great guy to call up and grab a few beers and just chill. I hope someone just gives him a chance.

You better be nice to those eating whole pizzas on their way up. He's bound to do great things one day.

But do they apologize afterwards and say they need to work on themselves? Heard.

This is literally one of my dreams. Unfortunately, I don't run in the same circles as these folks...maybe I'll run into Cheryl Hines in Los Angeles...

If there's time left, I hope Democrats try to recreate the memetic quality of the Project 2025 controversy, but for the reconciliation bill. More generally I hope they snap out of it and go back to treating Trump's breezy lying as moral degeneracy. www.offmessage.net/p/trump-lies...

I literally wrote this an hour ago:
This spectacle is perfect for the The White House Press Corp - who try to come across as "serious journalists." A joke, the whole lot of them. Major news orgs must be so proud.
A fascist will cover everyone in complicity - the press is not different.

I second this.
And to imagine almost a decade has passed is just so demoralizing and depressing.
Besides all the damage (in every sense) - just the huge chunks of time that this evil clown has occupied in everyone's life (and head-space) is a crime in itself.

Schumer said recently that if Trump disobeys the Supreme Court - then the country will be in a crisis.
Totally missing the point that the Supreme Court IS the crisis.
