Not that it couldn’t be done before. But it was way more cumbersome. And not that there are no backup copies of digital documents. It’s just easier to argue, to the non experts, that such backups are “fake” or “photoshopped” or otherwise altered to disagree with the propaganda of the current regime

The language is precise, intentional, for good and ill. It created hierarchies between a “citizens” and “persons” and their rights. The 3/5ths compromise was exactly about differentiation. But Constitution clearly asserts that the laws of the new country, one powered by immigrants, ruled over all.
