He is a disgrace to decency and wholly unworthy of anything vaguely resembling an “honor.” A career of abuse, misogyny, and lawsuits, with religious bigotry and chronic dishonesty. Good riddance.

I've said it before: If I were starting a new NBA team, my first player of choice would be Dray. He makes everyone play better on defense, he plays with absolute crushing passion, he knows the game through and through. He'd be my guy.

This is, of course, a lie. I know from having lived in Fresno and, later, Santa Cruz, that Santa Cruz is a Fresno/Bakersfield summer colony.

I would recommend the "Etta, The Brave" books (two in the series, so far), but then again, I would, wouldn't I? www.amazon.com/Etta-Brave-L...

I have never hated a bird except for the European Starlings who strip the cherry tree from the empty house next door, just before *I* consider them ripe. Those birds I loathe.

I did a whole book-signing thing of my first novel at my daughter's 5th/6th Grade Class. They lined up, I asked their name, signed their books with a personal message and thanked them. For a moment, I was a major celebrity. Then the bell rang.

This part of the Lake, including the Pyramid itself, used to be open to the public. But after multiple incidents of vandalism and litter, the Tribe understandably closed the area. I was lucky to have visited before the closure.

Meanwhile, some 350 miles east, the great Stone Mother sits on the shores of Pyramid Lake, Nevada, on the Paiute Reservation. After man took her children, she sat and cried for so long that her tears became the lake, and she turned to stone.

I think some of the demographic that would normally go--young men--were put off by a woman protagonist, and that of course is ridiculous. The movie kicked ass, and so did she. I've seen it twice more since it arrived on Netflix.
