Non American reluctantly conservative Liberal minded person. Love books, libraries, engineering when used for the right purpose, evidence based science as a bunch of ideas that need developing constantly and still believe in a loving God.

Try asking her about the years of abuse she suffered at the hands of a man. Her ex husband. Walk a mile in her shoes, then debate reasonably. Whether you agree or disagree, reasonable discussion wins over more people than shouting abuse at them.

Seconded. I am a lousy Christian and fail every day but I know that what they are doing is twisting the Bible to their own ends, and leading many astray. They will be held accountable. (As will I for that matter for my own screw-ups, it's all wrong which is why Grace is so important)

He has not learned from the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan that he lumbered the Biden administration with. (Let's be clear, he negotiated it, he set the wheels in motion, Biden was left with no option but to see it out and look bad for it)

There will be a pact. To intimate there won't is stirring the pot.

America I'd rapidly becoming closed to law abiding, visa and green card holding citizens of other countries too, including legitimate and fully legal tourists from NATO countries who are being arrested and deported in cuffs for no reason. Don't count on tourism to help your finances America...

The Saudis tried for 3 years using US weapons to stop the Houthis and failed. Guess it's Trump's turn to get stuck on his modern day Khaiber Pass.

I already included them thanks for reemphasising. It goes back way further than that... and those in Africa, the Middle East and Scandinavia are far from guiltless on that count too. All are guilty.

I don't entirely either. But smacking has been replaced with the opposite end of the spectrum. Disengaged parenting, or potentially worse, let the little darlings have everything they want, no boundaries, no rules. We need something in between the two, consistently applied.

Really? Greed, corruption, money grubbing? That is what founded the Americas, from the RC church, conquistadores, the French, German, Dutch and British colonialists to the formation of modern business empires. Even the Mayflower passengers were not all sweetness and light. Common decency needed.

I would put it much more simply, with a four letter word also beginning with n and a.

2/2 I often dare not go to the hospital with her because I will be arrested instantly when they see the bruises. These are children who do not understand the pain being inflicted on others, for no reason other than that they were told 'no'. 20 years. 20. To descend into potentially lethal classrooms

1st position I do not agree with physical violence towards kids, let me be clear. But. My wife teaches primary/elementary kids. She qualified in 2004. Then she had a safe school. Now, between knife attacks, thrown furniture, doors slammed on heads and limbs, blunt force trauma to the torso 1/2

A deal under duress is not a deal. In fact under contract laws in both Europe and the US, it is unenforceable and not legally binding.

This is exactly what happens when conspiracy theorists get control. That border treaty has stood for hundreds of years, through every turbulent episode of NA modern history without question. I simply do not believe anyone can really be that dumb. The potential alternative also beggars belief.

Yes, once intubated, getting them off again when frail is... one reason why covid was so devastating early on with the elderly even when being treated.

I am more aware than some having had lung disease in the past, having studied lung function anatomy and physiology as part of a Human Factors first Degree (needed for understanding of physiological capability and injury mechanisms) but I don't presume to be a knowledgeable person my brother is a GP!

The Pope specifically asked for openess about his condition and status when he was admitted. Normally nothing is said at all other than "in hospital" but this Pope is and has always been different. I have more time for him than any other Pope as a non-Catholic.
