This is a nothing bill that is easy to oppose bc it costs them nothing. They haven't fought *for* anything, only against *some* stuff and notably only when they don't have power. When they do have power suddenly fighting against shit goes out the window. Not falling for it, been through this before

Yes they have, otherwise the tri-care HRT ban wouldn't have been passed by a Democratic Senate, and signed by a democratic president.
Yes, they have otherwise Dem frontrunner Harris would have unequivocally stated she supported access to trans healthcare, a literal human right.
comment in response to
post
it's because they already did months earlier when they signed the tri-care HRT ban for trans minors which has resulted in far more harm this bill would have.
comment in response to

a hearty fuck you to you, genocide supporter, and supporter of the tri-care HRT ban which will detransition children against their will.
Fucking bigot
comment in response to

too bad they couldn't do this with the tri-care amendment which will cause FAR MORE harm than this bill would have if it passed and I say that as a former trans athlete.
They're not showing spine, just opportunism.
If they had a spine they wouldnt have passed tri-care HRT ban

there are trans people defending his shit.
@apogean.bsky.social is one of them. She blocked my ass after I criticized the Dems supporting and signing a bill that banned healthcare coverage for trans minors under tri-care.
comment in response to

apogean is a transphobe fascist sympathizer who cares more about the democrats than trans lives. Blocked me for this shit???
Yeah dems are anti-trans and you blocking everyone pointing out the evidence of that only incriminates you further.
comment in response to

There is no way to go "Dems signed a bill that explicitly targets trans people in a way that will cause them harm and increase suicides" and then also argue theyre not anti-trans.
That's paradoxical.
comment in response to
post
no, you're right, it's not a ban it's openly targeting the trans community.
Sorry, you're correct, they signed a bill openly denying trans minors healthcare coverage for medically necessary treatment in a bid to worsen their health outcomes and kill them. Great job Dems

"it's not a ban if it only effects some"
congrats then roe getting overturned isn't that bad then.
Executive actions mean nothing when the next admin can just do undo them, as they already have.
So again, they do low effort shit that costs them nothing while giving up on shit that matters

I say that as a trans woman and former trans athlete who sued as a minor in a blue state with "protections" too.
You're doing the cis version of a white person saying racism isn't that bad because look, Nancy Pelosi kneeled! Just so self centered and bigoted.
comment in response to

they also signed an HRT ban for minors which Biden signed. They maintained the status quo while advancing awful shit.
so far theyre a net negative. No gains, only losses and status quo.
I say that as a trans woman & former athlete who came out as a minor and sued in a blue state with "protections"
comment in response to

rejecting a ban on trans girls in girl's sport is not "standing up for trans rights" but maintaining the status quo.
They however DID pass the first HRT ban in history which Biden signed.
Also youre a transphobe for blocking all the trans ppl QTing you calling out your nonsense, speaking over us.
comment in response to

SO PASS STRONGER TRANS PROTECTIONS.
I sued for half a decade bc Illinois' were too weak. Expand them and have immediate enforcement measures that kick in IMMEDIATELY and are withdrawn AFTER investigation, not putting enforcement on the victims as it is now

I mean zionism is nazism so its incredibly on brand for the zionist nazi organization, the ADL, to tell its followers to support another nazi
comment in response to

it doesn't signal that though. They neither granted nor denied the request bc they said its moving fast through the lower courts. This isn't a rejection of anything, just an affirmation that the system won't meaningfully delay their opportunity to actually rule on it definitively

love how everything important is paywalled, such a reflection of how ass backwards this society is.
comment in response to

then we're doomed because Americans are morons who thought Trump would bring down the cost of goods by starting a trade war and who thought a woman who promised to defend the people doing a genocide, while saying racist lies about the victims, was going to work towards a ceasefire.

A system that rewards human exploitation, as capitalism does, is more conducive to an environment abundant with people who exploit humans, than a system which is collectively ran & in which any wrongs done would be done by the collective against itself.
comment in response to

Which is where my biggest disagreements are. Ed thinks these problems are the result of individuals, I say the system of capitalism creates this and if it wasn’t Zuckerberg or Musk it would be someone else doing the same shit bc the system WANTS soulless profit motivated ghouls.
comment in response to
post
My agreements with him are limited almost entirely to “yes, there is a problem.” What I disagree with him on is crucial bc it’s the difference between the problems we both agree on actually being solved or just reset back to their earliest developments.
comment in response to
post
Also “annoying” but his “solution” to businesses supporting the rise of fascism (again) is just ‘boycott social media’.
Which is, to say the very least, an incredibly childish and naive idea

He also misses that the profit motive that incentivized listening to consumer demands to *some* (what he views as “good”)extent before, is the same one that incentivizes the thing he’s writing a whole piece about.
comment in response to

Particularly when my criticisms were over their ahistorical notion of them turning against consumers as if they had ever been on the side of consumers, and the reasonings for why they have *never* cared about consumer interests outside of profit motive.
From a “journalist” no less!

I replied explaining why here, there’s two follow ups and then me updating that he blocked me (which occurred within mere minutes of me replying). I believe he blocked me bc OP agrees with the incentives behind these changes for one reason or another

@whstancil.bsky.social
Fairly obvious. Anticommunist/left just like Ed Zitron.
He says he’s opposed to fascism but he supports all the early stages of it where the left is targeted, just not the later stages of it where liberal projects & systems get destroyed.
Fascist sympathizer *at least*

@edzitron.com
A tech writer who criticizes “tech elites” while defending the system that creates them and blocking any and all critics of him.
A critic that wont tolerate criticism, constructive or otherwise, while rewriting history to defend early stages of fascism.

“We gotta stop these evil tech giants”
“Hey so you know capitalis-“
“BLOCKED! SHUT UP COMMUNIST, META PLEASE BAN ALL THESE DIRTY COMMIES”
Truly just such a self report that these liberals are in bed with fascists theyre just mad theyre not included in the deal. Ed Zitron is part of problem.
comment in response to

Link to my reply thread which Ed Zitron blocked bc he’s a proto-fascist capitalist who is mad his idealist nonsense isn’t actually based in reality.

Bc it’s just capitalism, it’s not “tech” these problems exist in every industry.
OP hates this which is why he blocked me for pointing out that his reasoning misses the source of the problem.
comment in response to
post
Bro blocked me for this because he’s trying to rewrite capitalism as somehow “formerly” good and “suddenly” it’s all bad, despite statistics not agreeing with this.
It’s hard to feel sympathy for Americans when even as they fall *further* into fascism, they’ll defend its early stages.

Ford, chevy, etc dont need to innovate bc they get a free pass in the US as “american” (no corp has a nationality unless it is owned by said nation or its workers) automakers. Their profits come from access, same as rest. Gains are made in marketing, not technology.
comment in response to
post
Systems built on the internet were done so because the internet itself was not competitive but rather a publicly operated space. The advancements then reflected that, competition being truly about capability. Now that internet is privatized, it’s about access, same as manufacturing.
comment in response to
post
It hasn’t been for a while. The US dropped automation as the primary means of increasing profits by increasing productive capabilities decades ago. Instead it’s been used to increase profits by *replacing* labor, undercutting workers.

Meta will literally throttle your account if you start posting left wing/pro-Palestine content.
I noticed that a while ago, mainly bc once you start moving out of left wing meme posting to non-meme left posting your app literally breaks.
Theyre all in on it bc fascism is just capitalism in decay
