I believe the same is true of freedom of speech.

however, the article articulates a desire for a kind of reform of America, a desire for quality of life improvements that Canada and many other countries benefit from.
I cannot begrudge them that.
This merger wont happen though.

This article simply takes Trump's 51st state crap and flips the narrative in a nicer (and complimentary) way. Canada would ultimately end up in the same place as under Trump's pitch.
Americans already have many qualified and decent people who would make great presidents. That was never the problem.

the biggest fear is that education will lead children away from their parent's way of life, make them elitist and also lead them to judge their parents way of life.
fear and insecurity are the leading causes of divide in America. Everything else is derivative of fear and insecurity.

I would have said that hate is a primitive defense mechanism that people use to compensate for their insecurities.
Some people have gotten good at exploiting others insecurities and channeling their hate.

The state has no business acting like it has say over women’s bodies.
Maybe it’s time for American women to pull a page from Lysistrata. If a general work strike is still not happening, maybe it’s time for a generalized sex strike.

Regardless, do what you can for your constituents, but this will not be a sustainable fight.

I refuse to hop on the bandwagon of hate towards farmers or red states. But at this point, each state trying to minimize the impacts on itself is missing the bigger problem. You’re just trying to put out your own house fire while an arsonist is burning down the whole neighborhood.

Steinbeck’s novels are phenomenal. Every single one of them was required reading when I was in high school (Canada) and I am so grateful.

It also tells us that the corruption is so sure it cannot be stopped that it is not bothering to hide itself.
America’s allies will end up being countries just as corrupt.
