Glad so many showed up to protect people's rights. Apparently 2 were detained. For the people who were released, what an awful and irrational thing to scare them with. People got texts yesterday afternoon to come from miles away to Tukwila today or risk deportation.

Per lawyers, immigrants were called to mysterious weekend appointments at the Homeland Security Office in Tukwila. ICE abductions feared. This is an opportunity to defend immigrants directly. No Kings will be well attended. We need folks at 12500 Tukwila Intl Blvd. Easy access by transit.

I wasn't allowed to wear red hats at school growing up after the LA riots because it was considered a gang color. I'd lay bets some of the very people who made that rule wear red hats today.

Police officers so often go home and beat their own families that new SPD Chief Shon Barnes has to say stuff like this to officers after a protest. I mean, I'm sure it does need to be said. But if there was any doubt about what these men consistently act like both on and off the clock ...

My favorite name so far.

Here in Tukwila, organizers are tracking who is coming in and out. Organizers have confirmed only 1 detention so far. No vehicles have left the building. All exits covered

Incredibly peaceful day at #NoKings Seattle, and now here comes one of those biker gangs to try to start some trouble.

The Seattle “No Kings” protest drew among one of the biggest crowds in recent years, with an estimated 50,000 in attendance. Here is some footage of the event:

shit-dipped fucking loser

Huge crowd in Seattle's Cal Anderson Park for the #NoKings rally. People standing from the Black Lives Matter street mural on Pine all the way to Denny. Bands, banners, and speeches from Congresswoman Jayapal, MLK Labor, and others.

Enjoy Chinese food at the buffet and you could see this message in your fortune cookie: "Watching a movie or a video game doesn't decide whether you're homeless or rich. Gambling is the adventure you seek."

This is based on a tip that has been VERIFIED by multiple sources, including immigration attorneys

If you're in the Tukwila area, go to the ICE field office tomorrow. They're texting this out to immigrants and look to be using #NoKingsDay to do mass kidnappings. This is coming from multiple credible sources. 12500 Tukwila International Blvd. (Reposting with correct location)

I dont have Tiktok but per @hannahkrieg.bsky.social ICE is sending text messages to ppl telling them to go to their field office in Tukwila tomorrow. This is how they trap ppl. If you can, show up between 8 am to 4 pm to expose ICE. www.instagram.com/reel/DK3GQtm...

Watching this meeting was an exercise in frustration. The ball is in the school board's court re police in schools, but regardless, voters are going to have to decide whether they're okay with their levy tax dollars potentially going to SPD in addition to a lot of critical education investments.

NEW - We sent a letter to Spokane city officials calling for restraint, transparency, and the protection of protesters’ constitutional rights, after officers arrested 30 people at a June 11 protest against unjust immigration enforcement.

All The Best Pet Care has opened its new Capitol Hill location, taking over the former Starbucks on Olive Way that drew the attention of Republican Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley in a 2022 ad, saying, "these doors are closed because it’s too dangerous to ask employees to work here anymore."

My latest for @theurbanist.org about King County's permanent supportive housing initiative: in 2024 the program showed improved health outcomes for its residents and 95% of its PSH residents stayed housed over the course of the year. Happy to be reporting some positive news.

City Council nitpicks an amendment to makes sure they can use education levy dollars on cops, but rejects amendments to pay for legal aid for immigrant families, Fresh Bucks program, and restorative justice. www.theburnerseattle.com/post/seattle...

More than 140,000 people were deported from the U.S. in President Donald Trump’s first three months in office. Many of those people left behind teenagers who are now graduating from high school without their parents in the audience to cheer them on and celebrate their accomplishment.

There are some decent responses here but I urge you to do better. I need to be entertained. Many thanks.
