Twitter is simply a cesspit of harassment and hatred. It has never been clearer that there is next to no chance it will make even perfunctory efforts to operate within the UK law until and unless MPs + both regulators, EHRC and Ofcom, seek to intervene to make the platform operate lawfully again

A couple of years ago the NYT (I think) had an article asking if Americans had any problems travelling on the underground.
The answers (from us Brits) that I saw on Twitter were hysterical, for example 'I've been travelling on the tube for 20 years and yesterday someone looked straight at me.'

And something else, which hasn't really been processed yet: a betrayal of British businesses, who are being misled into legally dangerous positions by an activist public body. The basic reality is that a company which trusts the EHRC will find itself in far greater danger than one which doesn't.

My concern is that we have the mechanisms in place to hold these people to account, can challenge them effectively and they can be removed if they fail. They cannot be allowed to get away with calling justified criticism 'fake news' or 'smears'.
