I'm friends with an evangelical that is endlessly struggling because her friend that is a trans woman seems to understand helping others but her peers are ??????
I would love to gently push her into a denomination that supports her beliefs better.

Felt. Had a really bad depression week this week for the first time in years.
Brain is still built for depression. I just managed to slip back into the rut somehow.

It is interesting that the party is increasingly led, at least in spirit, by women. Warren, AOC, our last two presidential nominees were Hillary and Harris. The women make plenty of positive headlines while someone like Schumer or Gavin elicts groans.
And yet voters at large seem against it.

Yeah. To this day I am finding people on this site that have moved over after I did.
I didn't see your Twitter announcement you were moving! I wasn't there anymore!

Keeling's Curve and global temperatures (image credits Wikipedia) is a classic example of how just taking the data at all, with no political motivation, can tell a story. It is impossible to look at and not go "Huh. That has gone up quite a lot. For years."
So must not take data at all now.

This is obviously awful, because the world is burning and people want to stick their heads in the sand.
But it has the knock on effect of wrecking a bunch of more mundane, practical science too.
For predicting river flows to hurricane tracking, things everyone should want, we just have less data!

I'm concerned this is unhelpful as feedback, but the best option I guess depends a little on what you want to do with your fungal queen.

Maybe the face is even just a feature there so that it can more easily negotiate with more humanoid people when need be. Even if that's just to lure people in.
There's a lot of reasons I want it to have a face, but that might also be a reason not to give it one. It is much more creepy without one.

I also find that I like the contrast between it and the other characters. It's the queen, so having a little more humanity makes some sort of sense to me. It's not just a walking mushroom, it has responsibilities. For better or worse, we associate that with being a human person.

Okay, more awake than when I first answered, so I can give details 😅
B seems to be more in line with the rest, but I get really uncomfortable with how long the neck is then. Like, even given that this is a mushroom head person. A breaks up that line better by having a face.

Polling slogans also misses the importance of presentation. There were jokes to be made about "We are the people we've been waiting for" but in the moment, hearing Obama say it, it touched a belief that we could Do It.
You can't poll that in advance.

That feels like it can't be right, but I can't think of a reason after that.

And, specifically, that the American Heresy "if I say the magic words, I have demonstrated my Faith, checked the 'saved' box, and therefore all my Works are Good" is not only anathema to Catholic theology,

From here I will be calling this exact strain of right-wing Christofascist dispensational premillennialist apocalyptic evangelical supersessionist covenentalist Biblical-inerrantist evangelicalism that's merged almost fully with right-wing cultural issues and the US civil religion "the US heresy".

It is even an ongoing issue that he keeps losing track of his "snake" if I am recalling correctly at 2am about a movie I watched decades ago

Huh. I am now wondering if he is a trans masc lion, seeing as he more closely resembles a cis female lion and a cis male lion.
Of course, at the time the movie first came out, that would just be queer coding him, so we know he's evil.

It doesn't feel great to make a post for their site that generates tens of thousands of engagements for them, but also gets me banned from their site. It's not like they even took the post down!
