Just a reminder that some blue states aren't wealthy (like New Mexico). We'd get caught up in the backlash of that. OTH, it's the best power play CA has and they should use it. With no FEMA, no Medicaid, and no CA... I can't imagine states like Louisiana or Mississippi surviving.

America stands strongest when we stand together. Don’t be afraid. We knew this was coming. We know we are on the right side of history and humanity. His evil will burn fiercely - but briefly. But we know that steadfast, patient humanity will outshine his corruption. Good will prevail.

the generic male pronoun during her discussion of androgyny and kemmer! I just think Le Guin herself infused many of the characters with a level of misogyny and sexism and Genly wasn't more or less sexist than the others. She could have taken the gender equality idea further than she did.

Okay, this may be controversial but I'm not sure Genly Ai is the misogynist. Maybe it was just the time she wrote the book in, but I found Le Guin to be sexist (diff from misogynist). Several of the narrators were condescending or dismissive of women. And the first Investigators journal uses (1/2)
