I joined a neighborhood mutual aid org after the election, best thing I’ve done in years! We run a free store, and the immediate feedback loop of “do X” and “see impact of X” was really missing from my life. Seeing the way so many simple things can help can be its own self-sustaining motivation.

I wouldn’t say never. Those are highlights for me. I show my nephews as many as we can. Our discussions have brought up love, war, sickness, family, reverence. I point out that the animation is 1000s of watercolor paintings. The great art of Ghibli is exactly what you think it is. And soot sprites.
