[email protected] is brilliant, and this is one of her best. Long, but worth your time.

In 2020, we mapped out the danger zones that will close in on Americans over the next 30 years — combining climate data with wildfire projections by US Forest Service researchers. See what changes are in store for your county. By @shaw.al , @abrahm.bsky.social & Jeremy W. Goldsmith

Braedon: I come from a nation that believed in fascist ideology for a while. And we don’t want to go to that again. We are close to it because people want to simplify complex problems. The essence of fascism is to simplify complex problems and feed people who don't have time to read some bullshit.

1/ RE Meta's decision to abandon fact-checking (and follow the lead of other platforms taking a similar hands-off approach), it's not great. But we have seen this movie before in media history and it's probably more instructive to anticipate what this moment creates. ...

Pro Tip: When you buy fresh ginger, cut it into small chunks and throw directly into freezer. Use it whenever a recipe calls for fresh ginger. Reasons why: 1. It's EASIER to peel when it's frozen! 2. Avoids food waste. 3. Keeps way longer, which saves you money and is better for the environment.

Curious: who plans to deactivate/delete their account(s) from the Bad Place(s)? Or do you just stopping using those accounts? Or are you going to use both BlueSky and that? Tempted to straight up delete my other accounts and never look back bc eff the billionaires, but hate to lose the contacts.

"Be the change you want to see in the world." For me, I want to stop supporting these billionaires, fight climate change, loosen the hold of capitalism on my life, and raise my tiny humans to be empathetic to themselves and others. How about you?

As a writer, I find nothing better than starting on a fresh page. And I find that my first post on an entirely new social media platform has that same feeling. So many possibilities lie ahead, both personally and in this world. It is exhilarating, terrifying, and freeing.
