Menopause is not the same as not having either ovaries or testes. Some hormones go down, a lot-but not to zero. Others increase.

Guess whatâŚthey donât now. Itâs Shroedingerâs trans-if you have enough mental health impact to qualify, youâre not considered to be capable of making the decision. If youâre doing well, Itâs not medically necessary. At least, that seems to be the case since JanuaryâŚ

I can imagine perimenopause/menopause can be a trigger becauae, honestly, I realized what dysphoria must feel like for a teen then because my body was doing things itâŚdoesnât do. I can easily see a trans man actually feeling relief and realizingâŚoh!

My kids therapist spent a lot of time trying to reduce distress until my kid turned 18 and could start T. So things like a referral
to an endo to at least stop periods, suggestions on voice therapy, binders, etc-plus a place to vent. And was clear that âthis sucks, but itâs what the law allowsâ.

Iâve been stocking seeds in my Little Free Library, but Iâm under no illusions that itâs going to help much. More like âgive kids something to do this summerââŚ

My kid is going to NB for scholl and Iâm rather impressed with Rail Canada-weâre talking some pretty small communities that have rail service between them and excellent bus service inside them. In comparison, I live in a big city which has ONE rail route that goes to two big cities.

In attempting to make the world better for them and protect them. Spaces for parents of queer kids provide ammunition. Queer spaces provide the strength to fight another day.

Honestly, Iâm a cis woman who is a parent of a trans adult kid and a bonus parent to two queer kids, one adult, one almost adult and a teacher-and they recharge me, too. Seeing queer adults living their lives affirms that there is a future for my kids. That I am doing the right thing

A lot of American tourism is based around National parks and monuments, too. Like, say, Washington DC. Eastern TN (and TN as a whole) woild have a major economic crash without the Great Smokies.

Oh, and last year we paid $2500 USD for my kid to have health insurance. Next year, weâll be paying $600 CAD.

FWIW, itâs costing less for my kid to go to a school in NB next fall as an international student with no financial aid/scholarships than we paid in the US-with a 50% scholarship.

And a decent number of US kids are deciding likewise. Mine pulled all US apps November 6 because as a trans bio grad who wants to teach, the US under Trump is hostile on all fronts.

One of my co-workers is a breast cancer survivor and is a tall, now flat chested, short haired black woman. We have had folks run into the office screaming that thereâs a man in the restroom-when she was the one who told them where to find their class 30 minutes before.

Turn in lower rates, it is not comparable to giving public dollars to private schools which often means explicitly funding religious instruction.

Charters have the same, and often greater, oversight than district schools. While there are concerns (particularly with for-profit charters), since they tend to select the more likely to be successful students and still

Charters are public schools and do not charge tuition. No voucher is needed because the funds are allocated based on enrollment.

I can think of a total of one secular private school in my pretty large city. They donât take vouchers (and the voucher would be a drop in the bucket). Literally every school that does is some flavor of Christian.

A lot of it comes from schools themselves, especially for middle class students who are in the donut hole. Itâs labeled as merit aid, but itâs designed to make the school competitive.

He does realize that the reason why colleges/universities love international students is that they pay full tuition, when most US students get at least some financial aid, right?

My mother handed me Dr. James Dobsonâs âPreparing for Adolescenceâ. There was also a sex Ed retreat with church youth where we watched the video of the youth directorâs wifeâs natural childbirth. Mostly the message I got was that sex was awful, but you had to do it to have babies and it was expected

I love Ugly Betty, and the way they handled Justinâs coming out (and Marc in general) waa great-but Alexis Meadeâs character is basically every transphobic trope rolled into one.

And qualified US students will go international because they want a quality education. Many will never return.

And some US kids will also choose international. My kid graduated with a B.S. last weekend and withdrew all US apps on Nov 6. Theyâre doing a 2 year post bac in NB instead.

About 50/50, but thatâs because I have a LFL and books go there when Iâm done, so anything that would be PG-13 ish I get in print to pass on. Comics rarely even stay a day.
