In a way it’s good, because it implies they’ll come back if we can shift the locus of power.
But, yes, no excuse because they could quit instead of colluding with no risk to themselves. There was a safe and non-evil option available to all, but they’re too power hungry.

Kind of proving the point though? I’ve been to a ton of protests over the past decade; at best, they have led to short term promises quickly broken, at worst nothing. America protests a lot, at least where I am, and here we are.
I’ve lost faith in protest; I’m seeking other forms of resistance.

Yes, this is actually a common element of propaganda in democracy.
I think I read this in Jason Stanley’s “How Propaganda Works” but, unlike in open authoritarian regimes which tends to be direct, “democratic” regimes tend to have inverted propaganda, where they do the opposite of what they say.

At least if there are no insurers, people won’t be paying in to something falsely believing it will be there for them when they need it.

You can never know for sure, but deadly wildfires are now sadly common in CA. For instance, one my friends and I were evacuated from a camp site because it was too dry, and it literally burned down the next day.
Dry conditions can cause many fires to happen at once; my personal guess is natural.

Yeah, AOC made a good point that their only unifier is hating democrats/“owning the libs.” Without it, they don’t have much ideology — it’s why they can’t take the win. There’s nothing behind the curtain.
